Nice capture. Finally a bigger AR is turning up. Would be nice if it still around when the weather clears here. Of course, I have Lunt SUNoculars incoming, so they will probably drag a huge frontal system with them as they cross the Atlantic

It's the way I do it Charl but that is from meaning it's the best way! I know some have used EOS cropped movie mode but I do not have that function on my 1100D. I usually grab about 100 - 150 raw stills and then have Registax 5.1 stack about 40 of them. It's a bit of a balancing act in Reg, too many frames and the resultant image is poor quality but too few frames and noise quickly becomes a problem in post processing. I try to get the quality % up as high as I can get it whilst ensuring I have at least 40 frames to stack.
