Hello all,

I'm new to astronomy as a hobby, but I have been gazing at the stars for many years. It was only when my wife brought me a telescope for crimbo did I start to get a bit more serious about it.

Im also a keen photographer, so I can see me sinking money into the obvious next step of astrophotography. Looks like she might regret the xmas pressy now LOL

Anyway, hope to chat to some of you soon.

Kind Rgds

Adie

Hi Adie and welcome to SGL. If you are thinking of imaging, then forget everything you already know, it's a very different ball game! If you have a look in the imaging section you'll see the sorts of kit people are using. May give you some pointers about how you'll want to progress. But don't even think about it yet, just enjoy the scope

Look forward to seeing you around

Thank you all for the welcome, and the sage advice (which I'll probably end up ignoring even though I know you're right  ) as I've already dipped my toe into webcam imaging Jupiter! And I've got a horrible feeling it will become as addictive as my 'normal' photography..  Oh well LOL
