Vince1963
Just been out in the garden with my binoculars looking towards the center of our galaxy (well nearly), You know in the regon of the good stuff M16 and M17. Anyways i'm looking north of these too beauties and spotted another great object i've not seen before... M11 the wild duck cluster in Scutum. I must admit it didn't look much in my 10 X50s but i'm really pleased i managed to spot it with them... Oh!.. I just love this astronomy malarky

Matt Scunthorpe
M11 is so far my favorite DSO. Just the way it jumped out when looked through averted vision was just beautiful.

swamp thing
M11 is one of my favourite open clusters too. A wonderfully rich cluster.
WaveSoarer
Have to agree. M11 is really spectacular and possibly even more impressive than M13. Sadly it's a bit low in the sky and, from my location, it dips behind the neighbour's trees fairly early in the evening.
