Some of us are old enough to remember Baader-Meinhof, and how it was pronounced on the TV news (i.e. bah-der).

I assume the company has nothing to do with 1970s left-wing terrorists. They certainly make good eyepieces (the company, that is).

Well like acey says it is Baa der not bay der. It is exactly the same as the Baader Mienhof gang was pronounced in the 70s.

My own Dutch pronunciation is infamous. I spent about 7 years buying 'extra invested cheese' (extra beleggen boerenkaas) instead of 'extra matured cheese' (extra belegen boerenkaas). Of course, my German would be even worse... :-)
