Hi,just joined. Have become a member of local Astronomy club. Have got 2 telescope, celestron neximage webcam, several eyepieces and very understanding wonderful Fiancé. Have been into astronomy for a longtime, but not had chance to do anything about it. That's all changed. Looking forward to taking some photos :blob10: There is so much to learn. Want to download the program for capturing images that one of the members has written. There are not enough hours in the night:( Hope to get involved with the site more, just finding my way round. X

Hi and welcome to the forum. For anyone embarking on astrophotography, may I suggest you hold of Steve Richards' "Making Every Photon Count" (FLO £19.95). It is a comprehensive guide on what kit you need and why you need it to get good consistent results. Webcam imaging is the easiest and least expensive with lot s of free software out there including, Registax, Sharpcap, WX Astrocapture and Craterlet. Of course you are limited to only being able to image bright objects such as the moon and planets. If you want to image deep sky objects (DSO's) such as galaxies and nebula, then you will need a very accurate mount in order to track and capture the faint light these objects emit. The above book will provide you with an accurate overview of all types of imaging and will help determine the correct budget from the outset. Hope that helps.

Clear skies
