Hi,

I've just joined this forum so I don't feel so alone in the world of astronomy. I've had my telescope for a few months so am very much an amateur, and I'm sure you guys will help me out when I need it.

I've got a Celestron Nexstar 6SE, and am currently getting used to the night sky and building up my eyepiece collection (I'll save those EP questions for another thread!)

Hi Jane and welcome to the forum. You might like to take a look at Stellarium here. Its a free piece of planetarium software that will help you find and identify objects in the night sky. As a useful time/calendar advance feature to help show you what will be coming up in the future so you can plan your observations and make as much use of those clear nights as is possible.
