Newbie in US Getting first scope: 8SE

Loved astronomy back in college. Got the bug again and am getting my first scope in the next week...Have 3 kids that I hope to share the hobby with. With the help of some friends think I am going with the celestron 8se for a nice all around scope. Live in Maryland. Will prob order on line unless someone knows of a good deal somewhere else...

On a few other forums for another hobby but this place looks great... Looks like alot of people from the UK. Love Doctor Who and listening to Marillion

Welcome to the forum, as for the 8 se, you've made a good choice, especially if you have good skies, one thing I would add is don't use the batterys as power they don't last very long at all, either mains power or leisure battery.
