My first Horsehead Nebula image

I can see now why this is such a favoured target for imagers. At this time of year it comes up in the early hours, and I captured this between 1.00-2.00am before fog cut the session short last Friday. This is a H-alpha image, just 4 subs of 15 minutes each taken with 4" Ikharos refractor & Atik 314L. During the processing in Photoshop, I ended up with the usual red dominated image & decided to change the hue to a more 'moody' darker shade - not sure it works, but at least it's different from other posts!

During the import from Maxim the Horsehead was upside down so I flipped vertical (and horizontal as well it seems) - hence the image orientation which some folks picked up on. I've flipped the horizontal back again so it is consistent now with what others have posted.

Thanks to everybody for your feedback.

Martin
