Jupiter map- 5 hours of observation.

Not posted for a while, so I thought I'd share this with you. I observed Jupiter for about half a rotation and compiled this map from the drawings I made during the 5 hour observing session.

Not sure how you see so much detail - my 300 mm f5.3 reflector shows nowhere near that much detail (just can't cope with the seeing).

Great observation there Paul, thanks for sharing. I'm yet to observe Jupiter this season.. thought tonight was the night. Alas no.. the fog just rolled in from the sea, and only just being down the coast a little from Sir Patrick. I know this is a big blow for many south coast observers.

Great drawing Paul. I was getting some similar views over an extended session last night. The very clear great red spot and shadow of Europa was the icing on the cake.
