brantuk
Hi Mr B and welcome to SGL The 20x80's are a nice start to the hobby - you might find a tripod and binocs adaptor a good idea to save arm ache

appalachik
Hi, I'm new here myself and a long time bino-user... nothing as powerful as 20x though. I have just viewed Jupiter this evening at 20x with my spotting scope on a tripod and got a clear view of the planet and 4 moons. Lovely! I'll echo the advice to get a bino-mount (preferably a sturdy metal one) and a tripod. Also, to avoid back and neck ache when observing near the zenith, a sun lounger is a great aid to observation (and the better ones usually have a place for you to put the whisky glass) Jenna
