  1. Hello, the more one knows, the richer one's life will be. Education is a life long endeavor. Besides, curiosity is so much fun!
  2. Hello Stu, so sorry and thank you to correct me, will fix right now. -------------------------------------------------------- Stu, not sure of what quotes you are referring to?
  3. Hello, first 2 inches barrel: -36, -32, and -25mm then 1,25 inch barrel: -22, -16mm PLUS a 3X Barlow
  4. Hello Stu and everyone, A photo wether it is you own or from someone else, will take you away from the personal experience. Besides, there is always someone with a better image. Also taking a picture become so technical and separate you from the actual moment even if it is 1,500 years later.
  5. Hello, it all depends if you want the "actual" and personal experience or a technological experience? The second will remove you from the "actual" experience. If one wants to see images that are better than visual, the internet is full of beautiful images, but the personal experience is gone. Attaching a camera to you set up will require more time to set up and adjust, taking away that "je ne sais quoi?"
  6. Hello, you can use an iOpton cube go-to, it makes things so much easier! https://www.ioptron.com/product-p/8200.htm
  7. Hello, why the turkey crossed the road??? (because the chicken would not do it!!!!! Sir William Herschel did more than build scopes, he composed beautiful music, although he did not built "big" orchestra but formed big mirrors!
  8. Hello, sorry, that is a lot of money, I bought a GSO focuser, 2 speed that works great on my lowly CR6. It is a 2" and rotable focuser for about $200.00! It fits perfectly, yes it is Chinese, but in the dark you can't tell. ;- )
  9. Hello, funny way of phrasing the question: of course you look through glass with your scope, but through a "glass window" no way, reflections, dirt, malformation of the window pain--just not worth it. At least the window should be open, but then a lot of air turbulence! There is nothing that can replace fresh air! ;- )

    Well I tried

Hello, I feel your pain, here on the West coast, it can be gorgeous all day, and then around 6 or 7:00 p.m. the fog rolls in particularly during the summer months! No rain of course-just fog and can be thick! There is always tomorrow night?
  11. Hello, enjoy that blue sky, and of course wishing many more blue sky days. Won't say anything about the sky here in Northern California? ;- )
  12. Hello, salt clear everything, but not for telescopes! ;- ) Amazon is my postman!
  13. Hello, let us know when you plan your trip on the ISS. Because it is not we don't like you and your company. But your idea is goofy, you will feel nothing because the experience will be instantaneous. Even at 17,500 mph you will not feel a breeze. So don't do it! ;- )
  14. Hello, thank you for sharing Roy, no seeing here other than clouds and rains! Your images give a very spheric sensation, with well defined relief.
  15. Hello, yesterday received my new 2 speed GSO focuser for my Celestron refractor 6", the foot for the focuser is sold separately? Oh well. Hope it will work, I don't feel comfortable drilling!
  16. Hello, I am amazed at the number and variety of refractors . They are very special. Because of their very special rendition of the night sky. My only one is nothing special, although I am in the process of installing a 2 speed focuser.. Presently using a more appropriate mount with a CGX.
  17. Hello, it is nothing else than an accident--nothing else.
  18. Hello, if I go higher I will have more trees in the way! So lower is better for my views, besides, no fun to carry a scope up a hill on a steep muddy trail! ;- )
  19. Hello, with these guys I feel very safe, besides they are so cute! ;- )
  20. Hello, thank you for sharing these gorgeous phenomena--I am way too far South to see anything like that, besides we are having a lot of rain and clouds and even snow on the local hills! Can't wait for summer! ;- )
  21. Hello, a Go-To only, so much simpler and faster to admire various fascinating celestial objects. Besides, you don't have to readjust constantly the scope, and then you can use a lot more magnification as long as the image is crisp. That is progress! ;- )
  22. Hello, clouds, rain, clouds and yes some snow on the local hills such as the Berkley hills at 1,500 feet. Major roads with some elevations are closed--yes this is California and so late in the season? My 10" SCT is set to go and well covered! ;- (
  23. Hello, stupid question: but what are the green rectangles doing? For us in California is tonight, but the weather is iffy?
