  1. Another question, my QHY268 no longer cools to zero degrees on connection and power on like it used to, but I have never updated the firmware or the driver in nearly 2 years, I still use an all in one driver from 2022, and USB and firmware from 2021, as shown below, so how has this change happened…? As I see it was changed in newer 2023 driver versions…🤔🤔
  2. Hello, I don’t think the idea is to leave the desiccant tube on all the time, but just to use when needed for a few days to lower the moisture level. The chambers are sealed, and like you (I have had my camera about 18 months) and never had an issue until yesterday, my numbers were pretty much the same as yours too, until yesterday, where they shot up and were about 75% at ambient, and 60% at -10, and so cooling as soon as switched on caused the frosting, but when I cooled much more slowly, I got down to -15 with no issues, so for me, although I have no idea why all of a sudden I need to, but it’s time for the first use of the desiccant tube.. SX do fill there sensor chambers with Argon gas, correct, and they will refill them as part of a service too..
  3. Thanks. Just tried it all again this time cooling in stages, when powering this camera on it auto cools to zero, so left it at that for a few mins, then went to -5 for a few mins and then -10 and even -13 and all good no frosting issues….🤔
  4. Just tested and at -5 it’s gone completely, and at this temp the humidity shows 69%.. 🤔 So is it time for the desiccant tube to be fitted…?
  5. Hello QHY268 users… Hope you had a good Christmas and I wish you a happy new year…. Now to serious business 😂 My last imaging session a couple of weeks ago all was perfect no issues at all, today I put the rig on in my obsy to take flats using my fitted deep sky dad flats panel, and for the first time I have noticed a dark area in the middle of the images at my usual -10, when I warmed the camera, it goes away, so it’s either condensation on the sensor window or frost on the sensor and I think it’s the later, based on the sharpness of the dark area, (closer to sensor sharper the focus), the humidity reading is approx 76% when at zero, so question is this the issue, and why was it fine just 2 weeks ago while imaging…? Also why would it be frost on the sensor rather than condensation on the inside of the sensor window…? Thanks all. 👍🏻
  6. If you do need some sharpening too, then use the normal setting and not correct only, but drop the star sharpen setting way down from the new default of 0.5 to what it was before, 0.25, and that also will stop the double star issue, or you could drop it even lower if needed….not sure why they have changed the default from 0.25 to 0.5
  7. It really is only your settings you are using in BlurX that does that Olly, I had the same issue, try the correct only option, that will solve it…👍🏻
  8. It is only subtle I think, and does depend on the quality of the stars to begin with, good data in better data out and less adjustment needed….👍🏻
  9. So that does sharpen and correct star shapes, but leaves nebula and structures alone…. The issue with this, is not having control on the amount of correction, to the stars, I tend to use the full setting but lower the sharpen non stellar option, and reduce the new 0.5 default of star sharpening, down to 0.25, and seems to work well….your mileage may vary….
  10. You can’t have star sharpening on 0 if using “correct only’ as its greyed out, and internal defaults are used….so stars will always be altered when using correct only….
  11. But when you get the settings correct for you, it is far superior to the older version, that is for sure….
  12. You need to reduce the star sharpening down from the new default of 0.5 to 0.25 as a start, not sure why they have changed this, but I had the exact same issue on some data of mine too, splitting an elongated star into one large with a tiny one next to it, also try with full default settings apart from the star sharpening, as I said try that on 0.25 and see, if it still does it then lower it more…
  13. Yes, so did I, but they have all sold…..🤔🤔
  14. Im guessing the majority of these are being given as Christmas presents to newbies, and will be on sale again in February on ABS and Facebook, for 2/3 the new price….😂😂
  15. Hmmm, yes yours is much more pronounced than mine…🤔🤔
  16. For me the new default of 0.5 was way to much, I found 0.25 to 0.35 about right, the default before the update was 0.25, so that’s a good start point….👍🏻
  17. I really don’t see what all the fuss is about with these….🤷🏼‍♂️
  18. Interesting, i have some data with issues like that, so would be interested to get to the bottom, of it, as for now the new BlurX sorts it perfectly… Look at these corner stars from a recent image of mine, they are like you describe, a main star and what looks like a small bump on the bottom right corners…it’s not easy to make out, but it’s there, if I have the star sharpening at the default of 0.5 in BlurX AI4 it shows it as two stars, a main one and a tiny one next to it, like yours were showing…
  19. Those are artifacts from using BkurX on too higher sharpening settings…
  20. Looks superb…👏🏻👏🏻 the nebula is top notch, I like the colours too, corner stars a bit dodgy, especially top right, maybe run through the new BlurX version AI4
  21. Great image, Would be nice to see the full crop of the image, but what is shown looks superb….👏🏻👏🏻
  22. Here is what it does for me, my stars are not to bad, but I do have a tiny bit of elongation in two corners, I think it’s tilt, and it’s driven me mad for a while now, as the more I try to adjust it, the worse it gets, and was starting to take the fun out of the hobby, as I could just not solve the issue, and my eyes were drawn to the poor corner stars every time I looked at my images, I was fairly happy with BluX 1 and AI2, but this BlurX version 2 with AI4 is just incredible, here are the example images 3 examples from 3 corners of the same image, the 4th corner was perfect anyway. Raw is just stacked with no adjustment, then BlurX 1 with AI2 and finally the newly released BlurX 2 with AI4, like I said they are not too bad to start with really
  23. Thanks GraXpert seems very good indeed, I had a few issues getting it to download as it’s flagged by anti virus software, which they are working on, and then when I did get it downloaded it would not install, I had to get the latest Microsoft C++ 2015-2022 redistributable..then all was good..Very simple to use and extremely quick through PI or stand alone…👍🏻
