  1. Hello from the Netherlands Welcome. And we all do feel for you cause of the Slow f1 ferrari during its post-cheat period😅
  2. Ah i see the problem. You use the wrong scale on the tape😅
  3. Just measure the thread diam. I have the black and white one. With a black dovetail. And still got that mak thread instead of sc thread
  4. And unfortunately some maks have uncommon threads. So either an adapter from mak to sc or just use only mak dedicated stuff
  5. Hello and welcome to this warm world of hobbyists 😅
  6. Well 20 m is a bit far for a stable wifi. When im 6 a 7 meters away i notice the previewspeed is getting very low. I dont know what your plans are but as soon as you’ve started an imaging session, you can turn your phone off. The device is programmed and works without the need of a continuous Connection
  7. I’m wondering if its possible to use the asiair with a motorized mount that doesnt have its own goto database? I actually never use the goto database, except for the start-alignment. I know asiair does its own orientation with multiple platesolved images, but ive never used it on a non-goto mount. There is one for sale, a celestron ci700 and its kind of a nice classy mount (and probably more for sale out there) I just never thought of the option of using just motorized mounts combined with asiair and skysafari for example.
  8. Yes thats of course true. Maybe it didn’t occur to me because i havent seen them in use on a newtonian
  9. If thats the reason then they lost a serious option in cutting weight ( metal, paint etc)
  10. Goodmorning. Whats the reason that some fast newtonians have an overlength/useless length of the tube. The sec. mirror and focuser are approx 15 cm deeper inside the tube, i assume. Is there a good reason for this design? Balance?
  11. Cancelled it. It was part of a etx-90 deal. But the scope had some damage. Plus the average rated eyepieces made me decide to skip this one. Thx for all the help and opinions
  12. Oke. Well they might work then. They are for a young girl traveling with her mak. So not really a fast scope. Thx for the information and opinions.
  13. Hm ok thx. Do you mean they underperform compared to a more common plössl? One from the green 4000 series for example. Iwill check the state they’re in before i pick them up. Very much thx. You might have been one of the veterans i hoped to hear from😅
  14. Hello fellow umbrella gazers. I have a question about a set i probably going to pick up this weekend. Im really very inexperienced so i dont exactly know what these eyepieces are. It looks like a series 5000 to me. But is it a model thats rated well or is it from a bad series. It has the 20, 14, 9 and 5,5 mm in it. Im really curious how these are rated by veterans.
  15. Try a 3d print company maybe. No damage to the scope when using plastics. And probably only costs a couple of coins

  17. Taste related question so i deleted it😬 sorry. just dont know how to delete the whole post?
  18. Nice. Always hard to describe with a picture how beautiful the eyepiece showed it
  19. Then quickly look to capella if you can find it. Then Go left and down to menkalinan. Then again approx the same movement left and down to see the ☄️
  20. All credits go to the guy who’s name on top of the screenshot. But this looks beautiful 😍
  21. A hello back from a dutchie👋🏼👋🏼
  22. I had the same psu dilemma last month. Caused by the number of fried this and fried that posts here on sgl. I just couldn’t name a well known brand for powersupplies. The most given advice was to look out for a lineair one sold by FLO or a safe “meanwell” psu brick. So finally bought two of the meanwells. Price is okay and quality(feel) even better. Size is the width of a tripod leg so perfect. I have to check but i remember i bought 12v 8a. With some sort of extra safety standard for medical use. Also adviced here. Like €30,- each
