  1. They are indeed. Loved this scope even before i ever looked through a scope. It attracted me and my eyes. And im not really sure but that 100ed Is not really a bad rated scope at all. Since the day i bought that 100ed, my 80 and 71 mm were hybernating. So sold them. And after some days with this 120 im sure the 100 would get the same use, non. Funny thing is the guy who bought my small zenithstar will be the owner of the 100ed next week🙂. you’re right about the lovely design Of the equinox. A certain UK based shop offers something similar with a slightly red in the mix😅
  2. But i have to say that mine is in the filter-nesting in foam in an eyepiece case. 52x143 mm long. Just a normal straight space. And it fits perfectly. It also fits filtercases etc. So maybe just make a rectangular nesting?
  3. hope you can make the correct nesting with this sketch. total length 146 mm (including dustcap) total width top-part 60 mm total width bottom part 54 mm the 60 mm width has a height of 24/25 mm, from 24/25 mm it has a slightly curved part to the 54 mm width. that curved side is 48/49 mm long. I measured it straight, so not the exact length of the curve. Make sure the top part (the 60 mm width- -curve- - 54 mm width) is 73 mm long. Make sure the bottom part (the 54 mm width) is also 73 mm long. 25+48+73 = 146 mm total
  4. I also have to thank Christian then. Im not sure if he’s a member here. But he send me this from Germany. Also very thankful for packing. he sold me a very nice 120ed. It has been reunited with its smaller brother last week, but didn’t take long to decide to say goodbye to the junior😑. It was packed in bubblewrap and very thin cardboard, but it came unharmed. Thanks for this DHL-guy🙏🏼

  8. Perhaps. They look the same. But if this mak has a normal sc thread, maybe a motorised sc crayford focuser is a better option? Skip the mirror movement. There is one for sale in the classified section
  9. I remember having this issue with a crayford on my newton. Its very easy to do. When the tube is removed you see the part that has to be adjusted. Of course you dont Always have to remove the tube, but thats the only way to see what parts need adjustment. oh i see its on a refractor. Maybe its a bit more work, i’m not sure. But the parts that needed adjustment on my focuser were the rail on the bottom of the tube, and if i remember correct, the “shell” that has bearings on it. i think for the rail on the bottom, the whole tube has to come out. But mine focusser was really far out of alignment so perhaps only that shell with the bearings would work for you.

  11. A bit like the title. Does anyone know if there are (Online)shops who sell eyepiece caps? I mean the top caps. I have some eyepieces without and would love to protect them. thx for any advice.

  15. Im wondering how to combine two similar scopes to a bino. Googled a while for the mirrors to make a bino of two maks. I just cant find the right name for these multiple mirror/prisms. thx for any help.
  16. Dont know what you’re planning to do. But when you’re doing some photography, you can always use that camera to polaralign. Im not familiar with this mount, and did some testing with this app also. But that was basically to pa an old celestar mount while on a balcony out of the celestial pole sight. These apps help but are as accurate as....
  17. And of course to extend it thát long so your whole life is filled with test-items😎. No but serious. When you haven’t had the chance to compare equipment, there will always be the chance you are happy with something while there is way better equipment available(in the same pricerange!). Im very much sure all the knowledge you have, after spending years in this hobby, can give you a good idea of maximum quality of view with a certain eyepiece for example. like people buying an National Geographic scope, believing its good and satisfying, and therefore never go shopping again for something else. Waisting all their nightly hours with a bad toy cause they have no clue what better views are possible with other telescopes. thats what i was afraid of😬 Not anymore btw. I guess the better options are marginal. So this will be my endstation for a 5 mm. Now start upgrading all the other sizes. 3,4,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,24,25,26,27,28,29,30. If you can advice me about good eyepieces to fill the gaps around that Tak 5 mm im very thankful😅

  19. So just start loving it and keep it? When you’re not that experienced yet, and not have been using often a step higher eyepieces then medium performers, its hard to tell how good or bad, this tak for example, is. thanks
  20. Now i’m kind of curious how this eyepieces performs compared to the other black/green eyepieces for example. I’ve used it a couple of nights now. Last night could really enjoy some fine details on Mars, although i had to use some in-between-clouds moment. I can only assume it is going to show much better detail when the sky is really available for us all. But how is this eyepiece reviewed by users who have been able to compare it to other semi-premium eyepieces?
  21. Yes when you look closer on that first picture, that tension knob is a bit visible. A bit hidden behind the lock knob
  22. I searched for a nice rvs scopehandle. Mostly because i wanted it to fit an equinox. I found a nice boat handrail. Maybe a bit to shiny but i’ll try it. While searching for this handle i found a nice cheap and maybe familiar handle. For €10,- you cant really let it stay in that shop.
