Wait! Not sure if this has been mentioned yet; There is a tiny Allen set screw on the knob, maybe 2, loosen, and pull the knob back about 1mm. It is probably rubbing against the rear of the scope. This is VERY common, they push it on way too hard at the factory. My 127, and my C6 had this issue.

Wow, the C5 is being discontinued I bet they will keep it around in packages like the SE and Astro Fi As an OTA, it was over priced and rather large as a spotter IMHO

You are correct. Apollo 18 was ready to go. Then it was literally gutted and the Saturn V was made into Skylab.

Sadly, I couldn't agree more I remember the Moon landings as a child, they said we would have humans on Mars by 2000 or before. Musk is probably our only hope.

I personally do not believe we were going to send humans to the Moon in 3.5 years. The can keeps getting kicked...

Is a 8 inch dobsonian worth it.

You received some real good advice here. An 8" Dob is a great scope. What makes it great besides it's light gathering ability is the solid base. No flimsy tripod/mount to deal with
