  1. Thats exactly what I was thinking. Thought about it for myself before I moved house.
  2. I always did wonder what that was.
  3. Being a wheelchair user, I am always on the lookout for a great pair of gloves (fingerless). Sadly I'm still looking. I haven't found any that tick all the boxes for me. Forget gloves. Every astronomer needs one of these.
  4. We bought a couple of the Moon lamps, with personalised pictures on then. One of me and Lorna, and one for her Dad and his partner. They were so happy. Her Dads was half the price, and you can see the difference in quality. I got a couple of restaurant vouchers. The food in them is out of this world, so kinda astro related. A few other bits and pieces (digital photos of Molly, myself and Lorna, neices and nephews on canvas),
  5. Most excellent image. It's got it all: planets, rings, moons. Can wait to take a look over next couple of nights.
  6. Zoom in and you can see one of Jupiter's moons.
  7. Ok, you forced my hand. The EP that I really love the most is the 32mm Celestron Plossl that comes with the Celestron Eye Opener Kit.
  8. Despite the heads up, I still forgot. It was probably cloudy anyway. See you same time next year.
  9. Mine is anything with Vixen printed on it.
  10. The reason I want to try a binoviewer is because it seems more natural to use both eyes at the same time rather than close one and squint.
  11. What is 80's Fahrenheit in Celsius?. That about low 20s Celcsius? That's ok for Feb. It's nearly Sping. Edit...... 80F=26C. Damn that's crazy for Feb. Here in the UK and Ireland, that's a heatwave during Summer.
  12. Try living in a bungalow during the winter. I have to have the lights on from the time I wake until I go to bed. The rear of my house faces south and still dark enough to need lights. The front faces north and is darkness during winter.
  13. I really dont need anything else. What I have, I rarely use. The one thing that has been on my mind for a few years now is a binoviewer. It's about the only thing I've been wanting to try. Maybe, I'll drop a few hints at Lorna because my birthday is in March and she likes astronomy too. It would be a gift for us to share.
  14. Ah, I nearly forgot. It can be brilliant. I'm off out for dinner tonight, but it is tomorrow night. Woohoo. Let's hope for clear skies.
  15. I bought an astromedia kit a few yrs ago. I never built it. They are more desktop ornaments than actual astro gear. I bought the Solar Projector.
  16. I bought the same EP from someone on SGL. It was so bad I sold it on again a couple of days later.
  17. I'll never eat fungii again.
  18. I have 3 QR plates. One for camera (not that I use it), one for bins and one for small scopes. All of these are permanently attached to above mentioned. These I use with my pistol grip and tripod. I have a whole different scope, mount and tripod for solar observing (Bresser 102xs and Skywatcher Az5 mount and tripod). Also a Quark Chromosphere.
  19. Because I'm in Ireland, I most likely paid 60 euros for my Revelli due to exchange rate and P&P.
  20. Ah ok. I was just wondering. I dont know how much the pistol grip at top of page cost. There's always going to be cheaper models of the same things. They can be as good as, better or worse. 60 pounds for the Revelli pistol grip AND tripod, I think was a bargain. Pretty sure I got it on Amazon. *Edit* Just checked the Dynasun grip and tripod on Amazon. 43 Pounds.
  21. @DaveL59. Why were you sad when reading my post about buying the Revelli pistol grip and tripod?. They were brand new. 60 quid was cheap. I got it because someone here did a heads up about them, and my Horizon 8115 was starting to slip when I mounted my 20x90 Strathspey bins. Sorry everyone, I'm going off topic.
  22. Yep, same as Revelli. I bought one a couple of years ago with tripod. Great kit for bins. I paid about 60 quid.
