  1. I don't mind the image (per say). I agree the background is a bit bright and blue. The nebula is a bit overcooked also, but if you manage to darken the background......the nebula might look fine. I'm not an imager, but I am a web designer and have used PS a fair bit (but not lately).
  2. $17.00 for a bottle of paint that contains about 20ml of actual paint. Yikes!!!.
  3. My Bino Bandit arrived today. Feels very comfortable around the eyes. Lorna broke down in hysterics when I showed her it on. Said I look like Zorro.
  4. I once rolled my wheelchair off of a roadside curb because I was too busy looking up at the night sky. Another time, I crashed into a lamppost, for the same reason.
  5. Earth is full of organisms that live in extreme environments. Boiling hot water in natural volcanic springs etc, so why not under or in an ice sheet. They are classed as extremophiles.
  6. I have a set of Lunt 8x32 Sunoculars. I use them frequently to look at the Sun, to find out if its worth dragging out my scope and HA Chromosphere filter.
  7. I find more and more that I tend to reach mainly for my 32,15 and 8mm EPs. Pretty much covers everything.
  8. Consider me tempted. FLO are the only company that ship them to Ireland. Bino Bandit gets great reviews online. SWMBO said " What you gettin them for?, I've never seen you use binoculars". I said "It will get me outside, and away from you". Anyone got a spare room?.
  9. Just when I thought I didn't need any new gear... Bino Bandit, comes along and tempts me.
  10. We ordered a couple of presents online in early Dec 2020. They have never shown up. Total value about €100.
  11. Nice. Very sharp. Great detail.
  12. WOW pretty much sums this kind of thing up, perfectly. To be honest, its whatever you feel at that moment.
  13. I prefer to find it via Cassiopia. I can usually land right on it most nights without using Cassi. On a clear night here, its often a naked eye object using averted vision.
  14. In a strange way, we are all stars. We are all made up of the same stuff. *Romantic ideal*
  15. Another rover?. Wow, more junk to be left on Mars.
  16. We've gone in a week from -3C at night to about 8-10C. Daytime temperature are a Spring like 13-15C.
  17. I own a bit of Mars and the Moon. Big enough for a single microbe with no kids to live happily.
  18. Hope you don't mind Ben Affleck as a neighbour.
  19. I know the feeling. Herself is under the delusion that I'm a millionaire.
  20. Fingertip cleaning method?. I'm imaging that's as bad as it sounds. You should use a rocket blower to remove any stubborn dust/crud. I have heard that primary mirrors do have a very thin coating on top of the silvering. I doubt its sapphire. Wouldnt that make everything a false colour.
  21. It does seem to be a money making scheme (I wouldn't call it a scam). Its the thought that counts. Lorna broke our rule of not celebrating Valentines Day, and bought me a Fiance card. Made me well up.
  22. A camera to make sure your other camera is calibrated. Thats a genius excuse for owning two cameras. Myself and Lorna have separate bank accounts. Not planning on changing that when we are married.
  23. Nah, its 10 months away. I do jigsaws all year round. Some of them i glue and frame them and hang on the wall.
  24. Today I received a couple of jigsaws. Each are 1000 pcs. Both astro related. Only problem is thatthey came in a generic box. I have no picture of either, apart from the tiny one on the site I bought them from. The other jigsaw is Starry Night (my favourite painting).
