Very good 1st light there, some love detail in and around the Umbra and Penumbra.

I have a 1.25" Lunt wedge, the view is completely different to the Lunt H/A scope i own. I prefer to see a highly detailed white light views, over a H/A image of the same area to be honest. I don't whether it is because back in the day the first Solar images i saw were just images of the Umbra/Penumbra of spots. But i still find them fascinating now, despite owning a H/A scope. That said though, when there are no spots, there is always plenty to see in H/A 🙂

I didn't bother today after yesterdays poor show. I am going to check my settings for previous images that have shown good detail in the past. Not sure i got it quite right, despite the conditions.

Good looking images again Neil, nicely defined phase. I was out again as well, until 9.30 conditions were not great especially in UV i could not get any detail.

and as an experiment i used a X3 Barlow, for some real close up detail....... or not. Definitely over the top for yesterdays conditions as it shows less to my eye than the above images .

H/A with my Lunt 50mm and Asi290mm

Beautiful morning in Bedfordshire yesterday, managed a decent Solar session after the morning Venus views. White light with Evostar 120mm and Lunt wedge, 1st and 2nd images with my Asi174mm, 3rd with Asi290mm.

Love a Ca-K image, don't see too many people capturing them these days on here.

I think Martin uses Pierro Astro ADC, which has better transmission down in the UV part of the wavelength. 20% increase in this area, "swings and roundabouts" as they say.
