  1. Congratulations on your 1st Planetary images. 30 degrees?, they are about 15 degrees when i get to image them 😀 The 1st image has come out very nicely especially with the Moons visible, like you say the 2nd is a little soft, a X4 Powermate would be way over sampled anyway i would think.
  2. When i was doing some "field of view" tests the other week for the Venus/Moon conjunction (which was completely cloud out). I could not manage to get focus with my Helios 120mm and ASI290MM/DMK21au618 i could not get focus with either without using a diagonal or extension tube.
  3. Another reason to look forward to winter :-)
  4. You can have a look at Jupiter and Saturn a little later as well :-)
  5. I seem to remember trying to find Pannstars on a freezing cold, part cloudy night in the middle nowhere with me wife (very unimpressed) After failing and driving home, the skies cleared so i drove back out. Stood in the snow covered ploughed field, i managed just a fleeting view similar to your photo. Not spectacular, but another Comet, so always a welcome sight 🙂

    Hello

Hi welcome to SGL from Pete in Bedfordshire 🙂
  9. Hi welcome to SGL from Pete in Bedfordshire 🙂 Papworth does look active pre-Covid, St neots also have an astronomy club based at Little Paxton. Where about's in Cambridgeshire are you Steve?
  10. I had to do some extensive "furlough break" pruning to see them at all to be honest. Good to see Mars slowly climbing away from the horizon already.
  11. Looks really promising, not for the first time lately. Lets hope a treat is in store for us.
  12. Just catching up on the few sessions i have had recently, only managed 1 view of AR 2765 in poor conditions. Evostar 120mm, Dmk21au618, X3 Barlow.
  13. Always worth experimenting with things when you have time to do it.
  14. I would even if you decide not to post it. Love seeing a before and image, makes a good record for the future.
  15. Same as above, but this image was drizzled in A/S3 to give a better size image to work with.
  16. Up at a ridiculous hour to catch the Planetary imaging window, the gap between the conifers and the horizon. Not the best of seeing conditions down at that altitude. This was as good as it got, but is was a lovely morning. The usual set up, C9.25, Asi290mm, 742 filter, 180 seconds stacked best 10%
