  1. Wondered why all that cloud appeared😳 but with a SCT of any size you will need a dew band, those correctors are dew magnets otherwise... Mid Kent has a great reputation so I'm sure that you will enjoy their meetings... Enjoy
  2. Yes of course the flats are the intended topic and agree that there's an over correction issue there. But you have vertical over correcting lines which I wouldn't think is usual in a flat
  3. Calibration frames will add noise if not used correctly
  4. I've read that it's a big no no.. https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/community/main-forum/generation-of-calibration-frames-and-use-of-bias-frames-for-cmos/
  5. I'm no CMOS guru but should you be using bias? Never used the flat wizard but does it give you a Adu option In Apt it gives you a Abu rage to aim for with a 5% tollerance, and if it can't adjust the exposure length it flags up a error to say your flat panel is too bright.. it simply runs through the filters and saves the result Also what scope are you using with the 268?
  6. What equipment are you using? Obviously a planetary cam if you're using 25 ms exposure ( yes that's far too high) What are you using for capture And yes it's fun, so keep enjoying weather permitting
  7. I'm not so sure that Steve is still running SCTelescopes, hope that he is
  8. When I was thinking about a fast newt such as the quattro, the Lacerta model had a different glass, blackened edges but in a search the thin metal tube was a concern... Spec wise the TS model looked the best spec wise but that may have been the carbon fibre model and off the top of my head had fuzed silica
  9. Sounds weird... Just to check the mount is tracking shoot a 30 sec, 60 sec sub.. any mount should be able to handle that.. if your subs are trailed then fix that issue first Have you tried a different framing assistant, see if that is any different? What are you using for a platesolver?
  10. I'm in complete agreement... Op needs to fix that issue first
  11. If it's trailing after a 9 sec sub that could be the reason it's not framed correctly, longer it takes to get your guiding etc going the more off frame that it is
  12. You can capture flat files and apply them pre capture Marty show you how in the video
  13. Technically it's electroluminescence as the amplifiers are at the end of every row
  14. Great set if images and a fantastic first light of the 11.. I'd check collimation before fitting bobs knobs as I shouldn't think you're far away if not spot on.. you're certainly going to mess it up fitting those and certainly going to collimate more often. . A tri-bahtinov mask is a very useful tool
  15. If you look at the Dec trend line it doesn't touch the baseline much ,if at all and the RA is under the trend... That maybe linked to the star correction on one side and mainly in one quarter
  16. Welcome from another Kentish resident ( Ashford)
  17. Hi Neil, do you add the blue saturation before you colour balance?
  18. Hubble doesn't use any lrgb , so it's all false colour, without searching I'd assume it to be the same for Juno as it's a scientific instrument, not for pretty pictures
  19. So is your zero position the same as your luminance focus position? It shouldn't hit anywhere near max or all the way in unless you have a short focus range
  20. If choosing a 462 then either a Qhy or a player one If it's the 662 then the player one ( mars c 11) I'd choose the 462 if doing methane band or IR I'd choose the 662 if doing broadband Here are the QE curves from player one website
  21. Very nice, the standard lrgb does it for me.. Think the mono 533 was always going to be a winner
  22. 462 if imaging in IR or methane band 662 if imaging in the broadband range
  23. Future proof and get a eq6 r pro if you have any interest in adding a camera ...
