  1. Depends on what side of the meridian the target is, so depends on what side of the pier the scope is What don't you try platesolving? Just need a few things loaded up, ie ASTAP and some star catalogues
  2. You can use several tools for collimation.. Apt has a collimation aid, sure sharpcap has also, although not look at sharpcap for years A Tri bahtinov mask is also a useful tool... All done while using a camera
  3. You can check your collimation, defocus on a star and check the position of your doughnut ( presume a classical cassegrain is the same as a normal SCT) Sure you can use a camera... What's the issue with using a camera??
  4. It was only a guess as never owned a Skywatcher mount but some have a sensor within the worm block as seen on dismantling videos... How are you parking, within the handset or within your capture software?
  5. Not fully understand it but with a ccd it's factory preset.. with CMOS it's has a variable gain so the offset is to set the blackpoint( I think)
  6. Thanks Ivaylo, is that a stable or beta version?
  7. You shouldn't be able to see Polaris in the main scope especially with the narrow fov of the SCT... Sounds like you did it right... But various ways to polar align
  8. Well done... Bet you're ecstatic with that...
  9. Much that I'm a big fan of Atik cameras , the new planetary cameras will blow the atik out of the water... I'm sure usb3 never existed when the titan was made... Frame rate will be far superior, download speed far superior, the player one has a imx662 sensor which has a fantastic QE curve, smaller pixels ( 2.9 verses 7.4) It has .7e of read noise compared to 7e of the titan, not that it means much on a planetary cam Sorry to atik but in this instance you're just too old
  10. If that was aimed at me... if you run into problems with your focuser , don't expect WO to sort it out as they would say it's a discontinued line and don't do anything about it... Won't even look at it or answer any further emails... I was so peeved, it sat on the shelf for over a year, bought a new scope with a decent focuser and it's like a breath of fresh air... A friend fixed the focuser on the William optics, and then was sold... Never to buy another W/o again Once bitten as they say
  11. The focusers on W/O have always been the weak point.. no problems with the optics but as with most manufacturers that sell imaging scopes with substandard focusers not fit for purpose
  12. It's not walking noise in the traditional sense... It's hot/ medium/ cold dead pixels walking with the tracking inaccuracies
  13. I'm not sure that a flat frame will calibrate out a gradient, it will help calibrate out dust and vignette as it shows in your image as overcorrecting.... A few years ago when flats software wasn't available you had nothing to flag up to tell you that your flat panel was too bright or your adu was too high etc, you did it by eye.. what are you using as a light source? maybe that could be causing issues Is the dust on the sensor, like from the factory ? Presume it has a glass window? Or is it in a filter ? It's too prominent to be further away As it happens lots of people have issues with Nina's flats wizard
  14. Only getting the audio Mark... What you're describing sounds to me like airy disc, where you defocus slightly to get the concentric rings, is that what it's trying to achieve?
  15. Strange as it's described on both axis as backlash free belt driven worm system... What did the calibration graph look like? On my ioptron( cem 60) it says backlash is too small to measure Are the axis really fluid with these? As with other ioptron mounts they highlight the third axis imbalance.. how do you balance Ra if there's no counterweight?
  16. Seeing it described as the devil's lightbulb still makes me smile....
  17. If they're not too bright how can it be over correcting If Nina is correct how can a 80 sec sub for a flat be right??
  18. Brilliant.. especially in the dust department
  19. So this is an image with flats applied? So like I said they're too bright so they're overcorrecting Are you choosing the right Bayer pattern? Not a OSC user so not too sure if that's relevant
  20. Really hate things like this happening, puts you off buying secondhand items, especially as you have to dive deeper into your pockets to solve an issue, and it's costs nr on the same as it would have a brand new scope...
  21. The one that was for sale on here? I remember drooling over that scope as one day I will have a 130 triplet Hope that the spacing sorts out some issues but got a feeling it may need a tweak on a optical bench
