  1. When I had SLV’s the only reflections I saw were from my own eye ball.
  2. Thank you. She says it was because I was flushed with success 🀣 now the name has stuck. I am even promised a WC sign for the door!
  3. 'The Khazi' is complete, well outside it is. The Observing Office gained its new name earlier, I can see how to be honest. My back is killing me, off for a soak in some Radox in a minute. The basic door structure, built it in the garage last night and the pit being let to air and dry from all the recent rain, was just damp not full. Then membrane added. Then clad in Feather edge boards, done to match the fence it includes within the structure. Fully clad, it became 'The Khazi' as Mrs. W has kindly named my structure. But to be honest, it does look like an Outside Toilet. So very pleased with the build, it is straight, has not fallen down 'yet'. For a complete Wood Butcher, quite an achievement. I think I might make Mr Ballance proud yet!
  4. @Doc a true Gentleman's eyepiece case, sits well with that mount. @Ags a true Ladies eyepiece case too, Ouchy finger, oh dear, at least you have another 7 in one bit!
  5. @Doc very nice box, but how about a picture of it as fitted out now please πŸ˜€
  6. Sadly Shane has not been on SGL for sometime, I truly hope he is OK and that the project continues.
  7. I am so looking forward to this myself. Hence the drive to get myself all set up on my Observing Area.
  8. I am sure you are correct, but my back might after the concrete job!
  9. Pulsar Pier, Top plate and fixing kit on order from @FLO. Another piece of my jigsaw sorted out. Cladding, door build this weekend and maybe concrete, if not its a Bank Holiday next Friday.
  10. How did anyone get to look at anything, I have been under cloud all day.
  11. You will be up early tomorrow then I expect. I look out early on my way to the bathroom, nature calls about 3am. Get tempted, but, so does my pillow too. Good luck. Alan
  12. Looks great Dave, look forward to your first light report with it. Is that another .965" sized one?
  13. Thank you Brian, as you say going OK, I hope for big progress this weekend if it stays dry. After negotiations with the finance team, I have the funds for a steel one which is great, just need to decide which one now.
  14. Very good Steve, now the tune has just changed words
  15. So was I James. It would have helped with the Bowie song that chips into my subconscious everytime his name is mentioned.
  16. Thank goodness for that, I was concerned about the scope πŸ˜‚
  17. An interesting thread. Never owned a Tal scope sadly, they were 'the' starter scope when I started, so of course I bought a Bresser 90mm Refractor instead, But I did use a Tal-1 a number of times at my local Astro Centre and loved it, but clearly not enough to buy one. Wish I had as the Bresser is now long gone, the Tal would still be sitting here of course.
  18. Pheww, delivery made πŸ˜…, I was just getting nervous. Cladding, wood for door framing etc. Lots of Ballast and Cement to fill in that flipping big hole. More hard graft to start over the weekend.
  19. Is that the camera rather than reality in play, it looks too linear to be reality. Of course nature can throw a straight line in when it wishes.
  20. It is the 30th April, 🀞the merchants deliver today. And far more importantly it is someone's 100th Birthday today, Happy 100th Birthday Captain Tom Moore πŸŽ‚ aka Colonel Tom.
  21. They are a beautiful mount, the engineering is just superb. That set up @Silent Running, looks rather nice indeed. I am sure you will find the whole experience a true pleasure and the mount will just disappear.
  22. Great to see British humour still abounds chaps πŸ˜ƒ
  23. I have a handful of decent SDS drills, so drilling and resin was the plan. But thanks for the thoughts and responses all. I keep hovering my finger over the buy it button at the minute, it's like Christmas.
  24. Very smart, nice job. So are the 1.25" ends capped? I would not trust myself with uncapped eye lenses though.
  25. Nice that they have, but typical of the cloud to spoil it for us observing. 🀞let us hope they last until the next clear spell.
