  1. Have we mentioned Undercuts yet? Televue have a love of them, I don’t, tried to discuss with David Nagler, but he was not having it that they catch. I made my mind up then on the spot, a company refusing to listen to customer feedback is not destined for my custom, so my TV eyepieces went except my Nagler Zoom, it’s undercut is Pentax like in proportion. Yes they have great products, but flawed with the undercut.
  2. Thanks for the post @GalaxyGael, I saw the Altair one at the IAS when we had shows, looked a very interesting item indeed, but could not see the benefit over a tripod, the mount benefit is clearly one of them.
  3. Sounds just the tonic John and that the ED120 still has a deserved spot in your collection. I was out for an hour last night, sounds a similar session, I had lots of smearing cloud drifting about, which then dictated targets by sky condition. Enjoyed it immensely.
  4. So all i need is a 'friend' for my Vixen and then we might have the sound of little fracs....... I must suggest another purchase of a modest second scope to herself later, wish me luck 😬 My original Frac only passed on after about 30 years when I dropped it from the loft, it had been stored during some building works. A tragedy as it had served me well for many years, but the broken lens and very bent tube was most sadly the end.
  5. Glad to know, thanks for the reply. I presume the DX is just heavier duty than the GP rather than any better in performance?
  6. We all do that Mike from time to time.
  7. So come on Mike, I am still holding my breath on this one..... 🤪
  8. And I opened the post thinking you had been polishing your head Jeremy, silly me 🤣
  9. I did the same, first TV I owned was a 20mm plossl and it was a sweet eyepiece, stupidly sold to raise funds
  10. Great to see sketching, agree with what’s been said above whole heartedly. Indeed keep up the good work and keep sketching.
  11. Interesting comparison Ed, when did the first Starguider sneak into your care? As you say on a slower scope why spend a lot when excellence can be achieved reasonably KR Alan
  12. I wish you happiness and much great observing in your new home Stu. Thats quite a move, presume no commute to London required ongoing.
  13. I feel your pain, that so reflects what happens in my life all too often. My camper van is sat in the garage, needing a £25 part, been with them 7 days, so far lots of wrong bits delivered by varying suppliers and no repair done 😬 worst bit is I was due away for 2 weeks last Saturday, my summer holiday is evaporating! The garage are as frustrated as me, they have camper vans themselves.
  14. Indeed they are presently, but who knows longer term, the part that was sold was the imaging division only, so likley the buyer wanted the imaging (ie cameras) part rather than just the use of the name, but you never know.
  15. Another great video Chris, a joy to watch. Interesting with the comparisons. Intesesting that an APS-C sensor between makes and ages can give such differing results. I have to say when I stepped from a mirror to mirrorless the Fuji nearly got me, but I went m4/3 and Olympus.
  16. Andy, I very much doubt FLO or any other reputable astro supplier would do this, they have a normally small market to supply on a regular basis and making money from an oportune moment would be very damaging to them all. I expect the delays are all supply chain as others have said, and of course the knock ons from Covid around the world. @FLO are a very highly regarded and respected retailer, I have always had excellent and honest relations with them and they normally go over and beyond on customer service.
  17. Don, this is dangerous politics teritory, but the US chose to have a tariff issue with China, so the outcome is higher costs to US citizens. The fact that in the UK we have not done so is also a political choice of the UK government, This time for once the UK citizens have a win. All part of lifes Ying and Yang.
  18. Nice review, thank you. Typical in that it tempts me to spend some cash on one, while busy saving for a new mount. That does truly look well made.
  19. Or how about the super APM UFF 30mm I have, replaced my 27mm Panoptic.
  20. So pleased your back and that you have found out what was going on.
  21. Indeed it is John. Nice report @RobertIand sounds similar all round to my session last night, but without binoviewers, the Veil or Bathroom Lights. Jupiter was great, but very on/off for me as my moment to observe is limited by trees presently. I was using my ED103s Vixen, so very similar scope spec to yours, and it does as John says show how versatile they are.
  22. Shame that you have, but as @johninderby says, shows the build quality of the Rowan kit. Still pondering the AZ100 myself as well as how to make things work for me observing, it's a tortuos process!
  23. Thanks for the share Paul, Good news 😀 Lots of Solar activity to obsereve for some years to come, all good in my book.
  24. Hi @Astro-Geek, Out of interest, what pier is that you are using? Looks like a nice simple solution.
