  1. John, Please stop now, it's getting too much of a temptation. That looks wonderful, as you say better made than expected. It will look super on that AZ100 when you get it in November 😁 Clear Skies soon so we get a First Light report.
  2. I know someone else who is doing exactly the same from near me, I fully follow the reasoning to do so. My only concern would be if and when the 'B' thing happens.
  3. Just from looking at it and your scale comparison picture made me think it might. This mount is far more than a one trick pony.
  4. It's going to suck in those stars 🀣
  5. Looking good Jon, sounds very well executed so far. Really be interested as to how it handles in the field. Do you think it will handle a reasonable sized Newtonian?
  6. So the only thing to separate you from the rest of us is a Handlebar Moustache? 🀣
  7. Post Person was also busy from FLO. 2" Astro Essentials caps and plug, which are very tight on my 2" fittings. and addition to my collection.
  8. Very pleased with the content, not so pleased with Border Force The parcel started out in a very different manner from that true Gentlemen @iPeace. Started out thus: And then wrapped in more Brown Paper, Super Job Mike. But after Border Force Got at it! No reflection on @iPeace in any way at all! Mike is a super Gent and packs even more solidly than I do. But blimey Border Force, second parcel opened between Mike and I this year, this one barely rewrapped, I am amazed it arrived with any content!
  9. I was joking about the AZ100 John, but would be rather nice. More after folks thoughts on Dob or Sabre, have used both my previous ones on Sabre, but wonder about a Dob Mount at f5 fl 750mm ?
  10. Or even a rather nice Alt AZ100 when they are released of course.
  11. Your thoughts on comfort and ease of use for a 6” f5 Newtonian, I have had several of these and pondering another. Maybe another yet to come as grab and go scope. But to mount on a Altair Sabre or Dobsonian for seated observing, to save the knees and back. Your input and thoughts will be appreciated.
  12. Don't let some lights put you off. I had a severe light issue with multiple spotlights from 2 houses, one house far worse than the other. I carried on observing from home, but devised a cunning plan.
  13. So how has the Observatory progressed Ian?
  14. I was just about to say buy White, John. Thank goodness I was not about to post Black. I just knew you would be unable to leave the itch unscratched. Well you have sealed the weekend weather fate for the UK now 😒
  15. Sounds just grand Nick. A properly dark sky and the old eyeballs make for a big smile.
  16. Wow, nice Stealth Obsy, like that a lot. Local lad too I see as well as the supplier of the dome.
  17. You can but hope Mike, good luck with this one.
  18. Interesting in the difference, I note that @Debo's sample is far from a Micro Mount many of us own, very nice indeed. You keep collecting @Kn4fty, I love these 'bits of old car park' as my dear wife refers to them as. By the way I started a 'Show Us your Meteorite' thread a while back; I set it up hoping folks would set it running like the' What Did the Postman bring?' thread, but alas not the case so far. Be nice to get you both posting into that thread and give it some life again 😘
  19. Sounds like an itch that needed a scratch. I wish you well with it, be interested to hear how it works out. I have an inkling that it will go very well.
  20. I think I spied the Mak in the For Sale section John, so take it you have decided to give one a try?
  21. Indeed it does look very fine, I keep looking at similar boxes to adjust to use. So nearly pulled the trigger on one last night, I might just still do so. Sorry this is off thread though.
  22. I take it that the sponge pad is very soft and not abrasive? Just wondering if as a Rusted suggests it’s the technique as well as the power?
