  1. I have an equally iffy phone image. Great stuff.
  2. Yaay, final a gap in the clouds. Seen it and most pleased. Then hobbled in and shown to Mrs W, she asked if the EP had a bit of dirt on it! I think she was joking. Times like this brings home why I am so enthralled by this fine hobby.
  3. Lucky you Rusted, you can see the sun. Clouded out here at present.
  4. DPD person dropped off a delivery a few minutes ago. Decided to give a used TV 32mm Plossl a run out again but with a Dioptrx fitted this time. Last time (3 years ago) I hated it, learnt a lot about EP and my eyes since then of course. I will report back in the EP section how things go this time around.
  5. Nice EP, I had one and liked it a lot, good value and good optics. Sadly had to sell as would not come to focus in a Vixen scope I own, had to be replaced with a Panoptic 27mm.
  6. Nice to see the roof in action, video footage posting was a great idea. I rather like the curved roof design you are employing, have I missed a separate build thread?
  7. Calling @Moonshane do you still have your oouk od150l ?..
  8. Has no one got one or has this not been seen? Is anyone able to assist please
  9. I feel your pain, I too have a concrete observing area. Managed to drop an EP early this year, while feeling under the weather. So I feel your pain like it was my own.
  10. Hi Folks Thinking of buying a OOUK Dob mount for the OD150 f5 I have similar to the present VX6. I asked for some measurements from OOUK, but I am concerned what I have been given is wrong. What I am after is the dimension floor to the bottom of the semi circle as marked in red above. This is my OOUK 10" mount, so not going mad asking for what I already have. I know a few on here own these, can you help me please.
  11. Oh indeed, that is the luxury version of what I had, think my one was a 30mm objective, plastic lensed jobby. It was of course the tool that made me first look up.
  12. Post person not attending, but Daughter No. 1 came bearing fruits of her labour at the charity shop. Made me very happy as my Trio of childhood books is now completed But I was shocked at the price increase..... Paid 65p for a 45p jacket price 🤣 And the final piece... They both join my finest guide ever, the first one I ever owned. Now to search out that terrible Tasco terrestrial hand-held scope that, I tried oh so hard with to use and see what was in the books.
  13. Still attending on Saturday, but see a couple of speakers have pulled out due to illness etc. So will be attending different speakers.
  14. Looks like the legs are one, not two, so you will need to be practiced at the Sack Race.
  15. Sorry to see the event cancelled guys, but knowing the area rather well, blimey that water is soooo high! I think cancelling was a good call.
  16. Thank you @Stu, sounds even better by the minute. Really like the sound of this mount.
  17. A question John if I may. Do the motions work without the slow motions driving, i.e. can you slew the mount with the slow motions engaged but not being used? I hope that makes more sense to you than it does to me at present.
  18. Fully agree. Deeply concerns me that I am living through the beginning of the end of mankind. Waste of food, energy, decadent waste of resources horrifies me. Steps of soap box quickly
  19. Sorry Louis but all my glasses are now varifocal, not a single vision pair left.
  20. Something about widefield views. Low power can be a very relaxing way to track your way around the sky. I think that is why I always like 150mm f5 Newtonians.
  21. Say that here to Mrs W why don't you........best not Jeremy, best not.
  22. DPD person has been a few minutes ago, on time and correct day. The odd thing was I was only expecting parcel from FLO, but had another one of plants delivered a day early. I did note every time DPD deliver the person is named Charles! But one was a lady, another chap Asian etc. Interesting how Charles is such a popular name across all sexes and our diverse population 😉 Anyway, I bought a new, yes new DeLite 13mm. Just want an 18.2mm, but I can wait for a used one of those or the discounts if they ever come again.
  23. I know you say it as a joke, but Dave, please don't! chop anything off but wood. I see too much of this type of thing in my day job!!! Be careful, be very careful indeed.
