  1. Retractable dew shields have revolutionised my cloudy nights, though. Great for Tak OCD. 😊
  2. I think we discussed Stu’s budgie smugglers previously And briefly 😊
  3. Colour coordination is exemplary Hope you’re not going to mess up the look with your Tak 🤣
  4. Nothing wrong with equipment sentimentality. Im thinking of learning Japanese so I can speak to my Taks more easily.
  5. If I were going for an FC 100, I’d go for the DZ. Further, for visual I’d save a few Bob and stick with the Tak focuser. Not sure how airline portable, but with the dew shield retracted and accessories removed the length is only 595 mm according to FLO website.
  6. That’s wonderful, Stu. Have you been doing weights as well as all your other exercise? 😊
  7. Looks great. Interested to hear how you get on 👍🏻
  8. Even the blue boxes are beautiful in their understated retro style. Classic!
  9. Sorry Louis, I was being naughty. Slap me on the wrist. It’s often at this point in a thread that discusses cleaning fluids that somebody asks about making their own, pointing out the Baader stuff is expensive which leads to a discussion on whether one really is saving money, Optical Wonder is worth its weight in gold, safety risks, risks to optics etc. For the record I use the Baader stuff. It is very good. Sorry.
  10. That wonder fluidic stuff is pretty pricey, though. What about making your own? Oh sorry, I think we’ve done this one before 🤐
  11. Wow! What an absolutely stunning setup, Nicola 👍🏻
  12. Click on the 3 dots at the top of your post you want to edit: same line as where it says Johnturly. You will get a drop down menu with an option “edit”
  13. You won’t like it John. Awful scopes those Taks with their poor focusers 😊
  14. You have a great scope to start imaging with already. No need for reducers. For many years I imaged with my Tak FS 102 and was very happy with the results. I realise cameras have moved on since those days, but not that much. Go for it!
  15. ...and of course you went for the optional extras
  16. Now you got a personal chair John, do we have to call you Professor Handleby?
  17. Ok then. So the question becomes not whether to get the FC 100 or the FC 76 DCU, but which one to get first 🤣
  18. Perhaps somebody liked them so much they cut them out to stick on their wall.
  19. I’d go for the FC 100 _unless_ I viewed regular air travel as a likelihood. In which case I’d go for the FC 76 DCU. But as I’ve said before, if you are not doing much travel then I don’t really see a significant advantage of the FC 100 over the triplet you already have, other than weight. Unless you desire ownership of a Tak - which is a symptom of that well know malady called Takitis 😊
  20. Might just be me, but the images are blank for me 🤔
  21. Lovely lovely. Perhaps the Q1.7 x next. Makes a super FS 60 Q 👍🏻
  22. As a regular reader of the latest publications broadcast on the ArXiv astrophysics list, I was especially interested in several of today’s papers, which I suspect are ground-breaking: The Existential Threat of Future Exoplanet Discoveries Pandemic Dark Matter Using Artificial Intelligence to Shed Light on the Star of Biscuits: The Jaffa Cake Science Spoofs, Physics Pranks and Astronomical Antics The first is published in that highly cited journal, Acta Prima Aprilia There are quite a few other classics listed (including one referring to Taylor Swift songs)
