  1. Good point Alan. However, the 4 mm is feeling somewhat inferior and is trying to find a place to hide in my eyepiece bag to escape being bullied. So if anyone has a spare cloak I could dress it up in, then perhaps I should do that. Or maybe somebody with appropriate skills could knit a nice warm cloak for it. Failing that, I could always resort to Lego:
  2. Little and large: the Fujiyama HD-OR 4 next to the Luminos 82 deg 23 mm (which has escaped the de-cloaking fashion)
  3. Fujiyama HD-OR 4 mm and 6 mm. I wonder how they will compare to my TeleVue 3-6 mm zoom in the Tak FS102
  4. I saw it too. Asked the vendor if it worked with a diagonal prism, but they said they didn’t know.
  5. My thoughts exactly, Stu! I'd be interested to hear if a diagonal can be accommodated. I also wonder what's the best way to mount it on a standard photo tripod.
  6. That's a cracking looking set-up, Freong. What's the guide-scope? Is it attached to the C8 or the mount (a bit difficult to see from this angle)? Nice looking tripod.
  7. Thanks for the link, Stu. It's a nice overview of fluorite lenses vs high spec glass materials, plus all the other considerations. I'm glad that Takahashi takes these worries away by providing their fluorite doublet series Jeremy
  8. Such stuff as dreams were made on in the 80's! I drooled over this type of Vixen set-up, Ken. Thanks for sharing. Jeremy
  9. Yes you're right, John. Before the SS2k, I had the with Skysensor 3D controller. It was about the same size as the SS2k box, but much less functionality and very slooooow GOTOs. The SS2k was a superb device. Jeremy
  10. Yes, I thought it looked great too. This was supplied by Phil Stone of Superscopes in the 1990's, along with the pillar. It was originally on a Vixen SP. Jeremy
  11. Here's a old one of my C8 on a Vixen GPD mount. And a Pentax 100 SDUF II on a Vixen GPD. I think that a very similar design to the SDUF has now been taken up by Vixen in the Vixen VSD 100 f/3.8 astrograph Both with Vixen Skysensor 2000PC GOTO controller. Jeremy
  12. I once had a Pentax 75 SDHF refractor, which I regret selling. The most robustly built telescope I have ever owned! If you are wondering about the angle of the RA axis, it's because I was living pretty much on the equator when these shots were taken. Jeremy
  13. Here's my Tak FS60CB setup for H_alpha viewing with a Quark. Mounted on the William Optics EZTouch. Also shown is it on the NEQ6. Jeremy
  14. Hello Piero, you bag looks great. Mine's a "S-ZONE Padded Shockproof Foldable Partition Camera Insert Protective Bag" (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075WSCR1W/ref=pe_3187911_189395841_TE_dp_1). So it's designed to fit inside another bag, but this is not necessary as it's fine as it is. Even has a handle on top. Jeremy
  15. Here's my Takahashi FS102 in the obsy. Nowadays it's gone walkabout and more likely to be seen on an NEQ6 or a WO EZTouch Jeremy
  16. I've previously shared my cases of Takahashi and Pentax eyepieces that I use with my Takahashi FS102. I've recently bought some 2-inch eyepieces and a Barlow for my Celestron C9.25. They fit nicely inside a padded photo bag I picked up for £11 new. L to R Celestron Luminos x2.5 Barlow, ES 18mm 82deg, Luminos 23mm 82deg, ES 34mm 68deg Jeremy
  17. For several years my Takahashi FS 102 was mounted on a Vixen GPDX. What a cracking mount! And the Sky Sensor 2000 worked brilliantly. But I have to say the new Vixen mounts look much more beautiful
  18. What an amazingly neat and compact package! Jeremy
  19. That looks a really smart set-up marcus_z Jeremy
  20. Here's my Celestron C9.25 on William Optics EZ Touch mount.
  21. My first 2-inch eyepiece has been delivered has been delivered: Explore Scientific Maxvision 68 deg, 34 mm to use in my C9.25
  22. Perhaps they help to make good beer, Ian. Definitely time for a star party
  23. Good to see the project coming along, Dreek. Jeremy
