  1. The photos make it look a bit insubstantial, but it’s Berlebach so should be good. I’m thinking it’s probably better to move the tripod around on the dolly, but place it on firm ground to observe without the dolly. I wonder if anyone has used one.
  2. For UNIs: https://www.berlebach.de/en/?bereich=details&id=409 can’t see for Planet
  3. I’ve got the Berlebach Charon which I’m very pleased with. It’s fairly light and folds completely flat, thus easy to stow in the boot of my estate car. Never seen the Geoptik, so can’t compare. Oh, and it goes well with my 3 Berlebach tripods. The Danes might like their Hygge look, but I like the Mulda look 🙂 I was lucky enough to get in an FLO sale a while back.
  4. https://www.berlebach.de/en/?bereich=details&id=27 select option for tripods with spreader stopper
  5. No I don’t, Gerry. All my imaging these days is with my C11 and this is variable star photometry not “pretty picture” imaging For many years I used my Tak FS 102 for both types of imaging. Was very good for that.
  6. And then there is always the lovely Q x 1.7 module. You’d end up with 2 scope in 1 👍🏻
  7. Don’t wait too long: it’s a great offer 😊
  8. I have all 3 and they are wonderful, but I don’t image with them. For imaging, people seem to like the FSQ 106
  9. One on sale. Go on, you deserve it 😊 https://www.firstlightoptics.com/offers/offer_takahashi-fc-76dcu-f75-doublet-fluorite-apo-refractor_130779.html
  10. Actually, I always thought drainpipes suited you, Andrew.
  11. I’ve got Televue Everbright 1.25, 3 x Tak 1.25 and Baader T2 BBHS mirror All are fine diagonals. The best built is the Televue, but is quite chunky (as is the Baader, which is a much bigger unit). The Tak is compact and light, so it’s wonderful for travel and my weapon of choice for that. There is a lot of nonsense spoken about the Tak build quality (some people like totake pot shots at Tak on principle 🤣). It might look less substantial, but I’m not planning on driving a tank over it.
  12. My lightweight ancillaries for my Tak FC 76 DCU in airline portable mode focus on 1.25 inch. I use the Tak prism diagonal which is lightweight and has short light path. then a Panoptico 24, Nagler 13 and Televue Zoom 3 to 6 mm. I have other eyepieces, but this is my minimal set.
  13. Must be someone else: Andrew never plays devils advocate 🤣
  14. An overly lacquered Berlebach could be a fire hazard I suppose 😊
  15. Wasn’t there a story about a frog mouthed Newtonian that was kissed by a beautiful princess and it turned into a handsome refractor?
  16. I think we all felt for you when that happened @Stu 😩
  17. I do remember you telling that sad story Andrew. But I don’t recall the Tak scope part. I can assure you I would have remembered.
