  1. Great first light on this target I’m by no means an expert at processing myself, I often just make it up as I go along but if I had this image in front of me on my laptop and was using Pixinsight I’d be tempted to run a pass of scnr to reduce the green just to see where that leads? I’m sure you’ll get better advice by someone with more pix experience Thanks for sharing Bryan
  2. Awesome! well done for capturing this, and doing such a nice job! I feel your pain, I have traveled to image only to be let down by the weather or local obstacles/lights etc You are lucky your neighbour has cut the tree down, some of my southern horizon is blocked by neighbours trees and it frustrates me as they have a tendency to “grow” each year!! Thanks for sharing Bryan
  3. Beautiful image and lovely framing Thanks for sharing Bryan
  4. Wow! Thats really useful Thanks for your efforts! I truly appreciate it! You aren’t exactly living up to your moniker of lazy by doing this for me! I cannot see any obvious halo effects there, which is a + for Astronomik! Thanks a bunch! Bryan
  5. Thanks I look forward to seeing some results! 😊 what scope we’re you using (f ratio) and how narrow are the filters in Nm? Cheers Bryan
  6. I wish I had taken out a mortgage and bought a full set 2 years ago in hindsight! I guess there’s something to learn there? Cheers
  7. Hi Starpeople! I have been imaging for a couple of years now with astrodon filters (1.25) 5nm ha sii and 3nm Oiii With various Atik ccd cameras I have taken the plunge into cmos, namely a mono qhy 268 which came with a qhy 2” filter wheel As much as I would like 2” Astrodon or Chroma filters, they are out of my budget for the foreseeable, I would probably have to save for a couple of years so I am after some advice for suitable filters with minimal to no halo! I have several scopes, from a Meade lx200 (normally f 7) and a recently purchased but not yet used in anger a Sharpstar 150hnt (f2.8) as well as a Samyang 135mm lens (f2)that I normally step down to f2.8 ish I know it’s a big ask….. Any advice?? Many thanks Bryan
  8. Very very nice! I hear you Rodd! Sometimes I walk away and leave an image for a couple of days, there’s always a tweak that can be done and sometimes you want to start afresh but worry you will struggle to get to the same point! This is a frustrating and rewarding obsession disguised as a hobby!
  9. Lovely image of one of my favourite galaxys 🤩 Thanks For Sharing Bryan
  10. This reminds me of a of a scene from a movie I think it's maybe raiders of the lost ark, or maybe Harry Potter? It's like ethereal spirits dashing across space and time! Amazing! I am blown away at what is achievable these days from "amateur" astronomers from ground based rigs! Stunning!, just stunning! Thanks for sharing and raising the bar! Bryan
  11. Paul This is beautiful! I have been involved in this hobby for many years and never get bored of this region You must be really pleased with that after just 3 years! Thanks for sharing Bryan
  12. I am amazed at how deep sky imaging has evolved over the years I have been involved in this hobby Goran, you always impress me with your images and your knowledge of astrophotography This is stunning! I can’t wait to see more from your amazing rasa dual rig! Thanks for sharing Bryan
  13. Incredible! I love how you have framed this and captured so much dust!! Thanks for sharing Bryan
  14. Yes, you have a fine image there! M33 can be a deceptively difficult target and I like what you’ve done! Thanks for sharing Bryan
  15. Stunning! I am impressed with the detail, star colour and natural processing look Thanks for sharing Bryan
  16. That’s beautiful! I love it! Thanks for sharing Bryan
  17. That’s a beautiful result from one night with such a large slow telescope! (I’m assuming you were using the c14?) well done! Thanks for sharing Bryan
  18. Awesome! those Rasa’s really suck in the photons!! great result! Thanks for sharing Bryan
  19. Something to inspire! really great result! well done! Thanks for sharing Bryan
  20. Very nice! you’ve managed to highlight the oiii shell really well there Thanks for sharing Bryan
  21. Tricky target, I haven’t managed to capture an image of this area that I would be happy sharing, I find reflection nebula more of a challenge due to the need to image in rgb instead of narrowband Well done tweaking that data out of a narrowband filter, you made it difficult for yourself! It’s frustrating when clear moonless nights are rare and you find out you should have taken a different approach, but that’s the thing about this hobby, it’s a mixture of frustration and glee! Thanks for sharing Bryan
  22. Love this! great composition and nebula outer shell in a rich star field well done! Thanks for sharing Bryan
