Skywatcher finderscope as guider? -
I just bought a 20d off ebay last night, whilst lying in bed last night quite late on! Once it arrives I'll try it out with the sensor you gave me CHEERS!!

I have wonderfully fine abrasive strips I use for polishing teeth. Would this be any use to you?

Clouded over after a mist rolled in. But I got enough cloud free sky to capture a couple of subs (first light) and get the OAG focused and working.

Brilliant idea, sure to make the Guinness book too.

Found this old one on a photobucket account. My first HH nebula 2009 and my second attempt this winter:

It might move a bit but then you can fine tune it! That’s the point being raised here. Honestly I think it’s mad sending the mount back for two bolts (or even just the one that’s needed) that could easily be sourced and posted out by the supplier/retailer.
-
I’m just saying I wouldn’t dream of tightening up that bolt without taking some of the weight of the CW bar to allow the bolt to turn without any undue pressure. Common sense would say don’t try to move that sort of weight with a bolt in a cast aluminium housing. We all have different view points on what we expect of things, based on how much we paid etc etc. I can understand your disappointment though don’t get me wrong, why can’t the supplier just send you a new bolt and that’s it sorted?

Sounds like some buyer’s remorse!

I still think it’s electrical interference and not operator related -

Daft question probably but could there be a power cable near the USB cable, or are you using a usb hub? I only ask because I got banding with my Canon when I ran the usb cable beside (in same duct as) the 12v power cable. Ive used four Canons avd never seen this except when above issue arose. Is it specific to 1200d? -
I was about to buy off Harry but mine worked with the supplied GPC so I didn’t bother. But he was good at emails it’s just his website is hard to work out.

Balancing was easy thanks to Steve’s guide on a thread. Alignment was ok too, fiddly but I’ve a lot of patience and am well used to working to very fine tolerances. It started snowing as I tried to locate ic443. I had Ha in one camera and Oiii in the other. All I managed was a rough initial focus on the moon at the start of the session. Hope to get out later if it clears up. At least both cameras are working though via APT 1&2, and guiding seems to be ok. Nothing to post star wise but I’ll try later.

Past few days I’ve gathered up bits and pieces to go ahead with a side by side ED80 imaging rig. Will need a few days fine tuning and assembly, I have adjustable rings to fall back on if I can’t it shimmed as it stands: Black ED80 DS SW FF 0.85x Canon T adapter 10mm aluminium plate, various pieces
