  1. What 5 ratio is your telescope, as depending on that your most inner circles may be off a bit, but what's the f ratio first please
  2. I'm going to see what lens they use as your captures are great
  3. I think the OP has mentioned they have a DSLR 500d won't that be heavier then an astro cam
  4. There is overlap in the books and you mentioned about processing which is covered more in the second
  5. I like the other book Dark Art or Magic Bullet by Steve
  6. To start you could make from card, compass and a protractor a Lord Y bahtinuv mask to help with focus.
  7. The 35 being a mount gives visual capability if that's useful for you I've not used either mount.
  8. There will be lots of replies to help you. There's plenty being done with EEVA and there's all in ones like the ZWO seestar s50
  9. very tight stars, did you do anything in particular here?
  10. I follow this as the SS50 is looking to be a fall back if my setup this year frustrates more than engages. The 462 has miniscule read noise I wonder what else they did to it in the SS50 over the ASI462MC
  11. Using your existing telescope is possible for imaging the planets, manual tracking is fiddlier but getting ahead of the planet and letting it drift through the FOV while capturing video.
  12. I like using the ASI camera I have as I don't need a laptop, I can control it from my mobile and use the ZWO ASICAP application quite handy. If doing more I can also connect to a PC instead that opens more options. Do you have a budget in mind.
  13. Interesting to read your results. I'm intrigued in the UV of flowers so had been from time to time keeping a look out for a UV filter.
  14. Feeling encouraged by the many great seestar50 images that I'll enjoy using the 50ED with the ASI462MC I've got and I was fortunate to pick up a used CLS filter on here some time ago which I'll have a go with as a LP filter on some targets.
  15. For me as I'm looking at other screens to live stack I prefer the synscan app rather than using the handset I have
  16. I like how the images have a title and time included, do you get an option to add date as well?
  17. Depending on the DSLR there might be something to read here https://www.astropix.com/html/equipment/canon_one_to_one_pixel_resolution.html
  18. A bit of sorting first, I was fortunate to pick up a camera from here which is going to free up the 462 to go back to the 50ED. Next check and sort focus. Have a trial of guiding to see what I get. Ideally now address the stiff azumith then guide test again to compare result. Using sharpcap pro try the auto align script which sounds great (it's in the synscan folder once unpacked). That'll keep me busy.
  19. yey found out today there is an auto align script available to use with Sharpcap Pro, they are in the windows symscan folder once unpacked, open in a text reader for instructions
  20. I'm just commenting initial thoughts as not experienced person but like quick gains. What is your guide camera, assume it might be the 120MM in signature, suspect that might be better then the big camera and use a barlow and have a go
  21. If you are using 1 star alignment after selecting I just use goto and the mount slews there and sidereal tacking turns on by default (caveat. mount is level, tube is level and pointing north) Point and track is where you might be randomly pointing somewhere and want the mount to track from there
