  1. Interesting to read your results. I'm intrigued in the UV of flowers so had been from time to time keeping a look out for a UV filter.
  2. Feeling encouraged by the many great seestar50 images that I'll enjoy using the 50ED with the ASI462MC I've got and I was fortunate to pick up a used CLS filter on here some time ago which I'll have a go with as a LP filter on some targets.
  3. For me as I'm looking at other screens to live stack I prefer the synscan app rather than using the handset I have
  4. I like how the images have a title and time included, do you get an option to add date as well?
  5. Depending on the DSLR there might be something to read here https://www.astropix.com/html/equipment/canon_one_to_one_pixel_resolution.html
  6. A bit of sorting first, I was fortunate to pick up a camera from here which is going to free up the 462 to go back to the 50ED. Next check and sort focus. Have a trial of guiding to see what I get. Ideally now address the stiff azumith then guide test again to compare result. Using sharpcap pro try the auto align script which sounds great (it's in the synscan folder once unpacked). That'll keep me busy.
  7. yey found out today there is an auto align script available to use with Sharpcap Pro, they are in the windows symscan folder once unpacked, open in a text reader for instructions
  8. I'm just commenting initial thoughts as not experienced person but like quick gains. What is your guide camera, assume it might be the 120MM in signature, suspect that might be better then the big camera and use a barlow and have a go
  9. If you are using 1 star alignment after selecting I just use goto and the mount slews there and sidereal tacking turns on by default (caveat. mount is level, tube is level and pointing north) Point and track is where you might be randomly pointing somewhere and want the mount to track from there
  10. Can play around in AP doing it EEVA style in altaz mode
  11. I don't see you mention ascom in your set up. The pc WiFi are you connecting to the mounts WiFi?
  12. retested and this method for me worked fine, tested with ascom driver 140 order connected using synscan dongle 1- connect pc wifi telescope was facing north level and horizontal, turn on az-gti 2- connect mobile wifi 3- start mobile synscan pro app and connect I did a one star alignment 4- start ascom and connect 5- start phd2 and connect mount etc. 6-sharpcap and connect 7- start stellarium and connect every thing is connecting and staying connected
  13. now tested with ascom driver 140 order connected using synscan dongle 1- connect pc wifi telescope was facing north level and horizontal, turn on az-gti 2- connect mobile wifi 3- start mobile synscan pro app and connect I did a one star alignment 4- start ascom and connect 5- start phd2 and connect mount etc. 6-sharpcap and connect 7- start stellarium and connect every thing is connecting and staying connected
  14. What has been your connection method, what apps are you using?
  15. Thought that was PC app rather than mobile app as the SS uses Edit Just looked on store, I hadn't realized the app was there too
  16. I wonder if there are plans to release the app on it's own to work with synscan mounts
  17. I've been looking for a UV only filter interesting to see you found and used one
  18. For inspiration on trying with what you already have https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/413262-eeva-from-a-tripod/
  19. glow in the dark need a bright light briefly to charge them, think of child glow in dark stars for ceilings
  20. A glow in the dark (they aren't bright) stick on stars would point the direction
  21. In general the more stable the mount the heavier it is, might be a consideration depending on where storage and observing location are such as stairs
