  1. Hi and thanks, Yep I have already been working on that but havent posted it as I may try some other tweaks. It is a shame to crop it though as the reducer is quite good all the way to the corners. Must pay more attention to framing next time.
  2. Thank you, The more I look the more problems I find with it but overall Im happy.
  3. Hi all, Got my self an Optolong Extreme filter and tried it last night with my Askar 400 and reducer bringing down the speed to F3.9. I was a bit worried about how the filter would perform with this set up but It seems to have worked fine. I picked an old fav of mine NGC 7000 and while I was on a roll of new things I had ago at doing a false SHO image following a Youtube vid by lukomatico. Not sure I got the best out of the data but for a first go at doing an image this way im happy. Know for the boring stuff. 25 x 240 subs with my ASI 2400mc gain 100 Darks and flats applied. Framing could have been better but it was a rush to set up last night after the rain and then get the rig in after as I had to be up early. Hints tips a cc welcome Thanks for looking.
  4. The second one does look sweeter to me.
  5. Thanks for the reply. I have to say they look the same, Well its worth knowing as it gives me a spare motor for both for that just in case moment.
  6. V nice, I expect great things from you Obi-wan!
  7. Just a quick question, I have been sorting out some of my junk and found a HEQ 5 motor labelled as RA. Is the DEC motor not the same motor and if so could this RA motor be used as a DEC motor? Thanks in advance.
  8. I will do my best! If its not a secret what have you gone to?
  9. Well that is nice! This is on my to-do list but I think I'll have trouble putting in 10 hrs let alone 50! Finally got my scope out and next clear night i will be taking subs for real!
  10. Yep thats jaws! I used to have the same problem when I used my ASI 1600mm. I never got to the bottom of the problem as it was intermittent.
  11. Nice shark! must add this to my list!
  12. Well I have been chomping at the bit for ages to get out and do some pics and as Its starting to get dark at reasonable time I thought last night would be a good time to test the rig after its lay up. Needed a target that was easy to find and not to close to the moon. So here is my test shot of M 57, 1hr and 20 mins of subs ( 60s at -10 ) taken wih my ASI 2600mc through my Askar 400. Not going to win any prizes but it was a gentle start to the season and the kit all worked fine but my processing needs to be re learnt! And the crop Any hints and tips welcome. Thanks for looking.
  13. Both look good to me although I do luv a hubble type palette.
