  1. With last night looking like the last clear night here for a while I dragged the scope out and had a quick play. Not sure as to what to shoot I settled on NGC 4565 ( the Needle Galaxy ). this is just 50 x 120s subs with a quick stir in PI and a little Topaz de noise. Not sure where the blue fringes came from on the stars but when I have more time I will see about killing them. I usually have problems with green in my images and this time I have tried harder to reduce the problem. Any CC welcome. Thanks for looking. and the crop
  2. Hi, thanks for tips. I will give it ago when I get home.
  3. Hi, thanks for tips. I will give it ago when I get home.
  4. Thanks for the tinkering. I does look better. I'm away this weekend but when I get back I will try what you say. Thanks again.
  5. Hi, funny. I use an asi 120 also. That is something to ponder. I will have to look at that, thanks.
  6. Well tried to remove the green, any better?
  7. Hi and thanks, I always seem to have a green tint problem,.
  8. This image is a bit of a fiddle due to problems with the data/camera ( see here. Any way after a bit of pushing and pulling the data I got this. Not really happy with it but have got to the point where I just cant mess with it anymore. Any help will be much appreciated. 82 x 120s subs taken with ASI 2600mc through Askar 400. Thanks for looking.
  9. Hmm, I dont know. I will have a look at that next time im out to play.
  10. Hi Steve, conditions were not ideal and that could explain the background but im still a little troubled by the center of the galaxies being so blown and clipped. I had a similar problem on thors nebula that i did a week ago. Im just finding it difficult to understand the problem. My next step is to go for short exposures and see what that brings. When it all comes together the images from the camera are very good but every now and then I seem to get this problem.
  11. Hi, ABE and DBE dont seem to help. will try PCC. thanks
  12. Hi vlaiv, the bayer pattern is RGGB and that has worked ok in the past.
  13. Hi all, I was out last night trying to get the Leo triplet, all seems ok till I started to processing. Im using PI and did a basic STF stretch and got the image below. Now I have only been using this camera since December ( ASI 2600mc pro ) and havent had a lot of experiance with it yet but on my lat few images Im getting over cooked images like below. I have tried to remove the problem by moving the sliders but what I loose in one problem I get in another. My question is Have been using to long an exposure ( these are 82 x 120s ) or do I have another problem? Also the bottom image is the frame again with a basic stretch, can somebody tell me what is causing the problem with the background. Thanks in advance.
  14. Hi, I just stuck with the 55mm ( used spacer and filter tray to get 55mm ). I could fine tune a bit more but I dont think its worth the trouble as after dithering I crop a little off the image and that gets rid of the worst stars.
  15. Both look good to me, Dont you just luv the Askar 400 and ASI 2600 combi.
  16. Thanks Olly, Not sure how they come about. On my first nights data I could see them forming but when I added the second night it looked like i had clipped the red data, I was wondering if its a thing with the filter.
  17. Thank you, I think I could do with reducing the amount of stars. Hi, Im impressed with how the stars are good at the corners. Had to crop a very little bit due to the dither but luv the wide field.
  18. This is my first proper test of the Askar 400 with the dedicated FR. The moon was a bit of a pain and the target being so low and between next doors house and garage didnt help. This is 55 x 240s subs taken over 2 nights. Taken with my ASI 2600mc through my Optolong Enhance filter. One problem I had was that the red channel gave some strange blown out bits on the Nebula, not sure that was the moon or just to long an exposure but it was a pain to remove. Had to use a lot of coats of Topaz Denoise and I may have overdone it but as a test of the FR im pleased with the field of view and that the stars at the edge dont look to bad. and the crop
  19. I got one for the summer time just to fill in the gap between late may and early August when I cant get to do the deepsky stuff. I have had it about 2 years and for me it does the job. I use it with my guide camera for imaging and although the processing is a bit of a faf Im happy with the results i get. As said above there may bet better options out there but I am more than happy with this little scope.
