I'm another one that keeps my scope setup in the conservatory ready to go. Pretty much at ambient temp in the winter, the summer though 😣 -
Thanks for that....will have a look I was told it was motor engagement because mine does it at the start and the end. Thought it was odd because the EQ6r has belt drive. Update the firmware, be interested to see if it goes away like yours. They may have slowed the initial startup and slow down of the motors. Thanks for this!!!

Mine does the same.... I sent an email to my retailer whom said it was perfectly normal for that mount, I continued to use it and it doesn't seem to have any ill effects. I was just concerned because my HEQ5 never did that. Rob

LP filter with ASI1600 Mono and Canon lens
Robny replied to Z3roCool's topic in Getting Started With Imaging
Would also be interested in knowing the answer to this, I dont have the same equipment as you but would like to do LRGB imaging from my light polluted garden and was wondering if a light pollution filter would work in situ. -
Sorry..... I have nothing to.add to this thread but found it very interesting reading indeed and something I'd never considered

Wasn't reading it correctly, my own PA routine uses plate solving when I use Sharpcap Pro to PA 😂😂
-
Curious...... How does platesolving help with PA? When doing PA you are aligning your mount against Polaris hour angle by adjusting the mounts AZ and Latitude, where as platesolving aligns and syncs your telescope position so you are targeting the correct place by adjusting and syncing its RA and DEC coordinates.....it does not adjust your AZ and Latitude? Just wondering...

An EQ6R Pro, ordered from IAS, I requested for the delivery date to be today....and was very pleased when it turned up as promised. It's a bit of a beast when its next to my HEQ5, thought that was big 😂😂

Adapt or die

There are lots of reports regarding people not bring able to get focus with there cameras on s 200p due to not enough inward travel. However....as above from @JOC therr are also people that achieve focus with no issues. Best thing to do is give it a try, if you dont get focus, chances are with a 200p is because of not enough inward travel. You may get lucky and be fine!! If you have a problem with inward focus with your camera, then it may need a change of focusser for the slimline version. Oh and btw.....welcome to the group!!! -
I didn't quite make it out of the show unscathed...... I'm taking delivery of a shiny new EQ6R-Pro on Friday and I also got a losemandy style dovetail bar and a power cable to run the EQ6R from my Pegasus power box from Tim Duke of Dew Control. For those who make it out with their cards intact should write a tutorial on how to do so, because as yet I've not managed it. I even tried taken my wife this time and that never worked either..... 😂😂

Will you have the eq6r pro with you at the show to take away? Rob

Have you seen this on the classifieds section? You could get the camera, manual filter wheel for £780 it seems, also the poster has said they are open to offers. I have this camera and it is a great camera!! You would have to check your sample rate though with 200 pds and this camera. BTW...I'm in no way connected to the seller.. Rob
-
Excellent...will give that a go next time

Hello from Warrington Welcome aboard....I had one of those scopes, it's a great piece of kit that you'll never out grow 👍
-
I didn't know this... So, do you still select On Camera for mount AND Aux Mount. Or is it one or the other? Never done anything with Aux Mount!

The view in most apps are in such a way to match the view kn your polar scope. So to put Polaris in the rite place using an app, you place Polaris exactly as it is in the app into the your polar scope, no need to invert anything.

So do I....I should of clarified by saying Pulse Guiding via EQMod.

Here you go, you get quite a quick response from the FB page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/441975262512618/ Rob

Hi All On what was forecast for clear skies all night on Tuesday evening, I only managed to get 20 mins of data from a planned 4hr imaging session However, I stacked and "processed" what I captured and was quite pleased with what I got for only 20 mins, so thought I'd share it here. Ha - 5x240s flats and darks calibrated Captured in NINA - Guided by PHD2 - Processed by PI Feedback always welcome
