  1. Hi All Does anyone use these: https://www.pixelskiesastro.com/remote-telescope-hosting-spain# As far as I can tell, its a company that will host your own telescope (in spain) so you can use it remotely. The fact that it doesn't state any type of guide price on their website, indicates to me that I cannot afford it 😂 But I'm just wondering how far out of reach it might be? As its an interesting concept/thought given our perma-cloud situation 😬 Need to do a bit of research before bringing it to the attention of the finance director Rob
  2. Similarly I went for USB over cat5e using the Lindy 5 socket hub. Works perfectly and it's only one network cable going from where the hub is on my mount to my laptop inside the house, would never go back. Rob
  3. Are these recorded so you can watch at a later date if you can't make it. Rob
  4. Please see the attached images, I think they measure different but could be looking at the wrong thing, whats your thought's?
  5. Hi All I'm just running a set of darks off at -10 and 180 second, but I've noticed that he occasional one is coming out darker than the rest of them. See below image where the first and third image are darker. Does this pose a problem when creating a master dark, should they be deleted and reshot are is it normal and all is a-ok?
  6. Interesting....thanks for that, my scope is GT71 at 4.9 so hopefully that won't be an issue
  7. Your understanding is correct and I'm changing from mono to OSC, due to time restraints, family, work and weather.....for the time being. Just sold all my mono stuff and going back to OSC
  8. I know, im going to be battling what ever I buy, but just want something that will give me a fighting chance...lol
  9. Purely based on cost, I know if I only had one filter I could most likely get it but I want the option to shoot both bands.
  10. I've done a bit of research ahead of writing this, but just wanting to know peoples thoughts directly before make a purchase. I'll be using a cooled 183c OSC camera in bortle 8 skies, predominantly with LED street lighting, I'm looking for good light pollution filters and have narrowed it down to these two on FLO's website (most likely buying both): IDAD D2 : Optolong L-enhance I would use the IDAS for reflection nebula and galaxies, the L-enhance I would use for my NB nebula targets etc, maybe can even combine them in post not stack both filters Does this seem reasonable or am I leaving something on the table. Anyone used or have experience of these with a similar setup and conditions. Should I be worried about reflections with either of these, bloated stars, bad colour etc. I'm ready to buy just want to make sure I'm not missing something. Thanks as always Rob
  11. I wouldn't go for the kne in the OP....it will be under powered for what you want to use it for. It even suggests it in the title, ideal for email, web browsing and multimedia. Im currently using Ryzan 5, 16gb ram 1tb ssd and 2gb graphics card. If you're not to familiar with computers or components, you won't go far wrong which states it is ideal for video and photo editing. Rob
  12. Welcome to the group, also from Cheshire..
  13. Hi I use this with my WO GT71, its a good little setup never had any problems with it, works well. https://www.altairastro.com/altair-60mm-guide-scope-vixen-bar-rings--gpcam2-camera-combo-6217-p.asp Rob
  14. Thanks for the responses, I did think about the belts after I posted the video, but I thought they may have been too tight .making the motor struggle. It does do it pretty much through the full rotation with the odd spots of what I would call a normal noise. The noise does dissipate when I slow the slew rate. I also sent an email to the retailer I purchased it from and they have forwarded the video to one of the skywatcher technicians? Rob
  15. Hi All Had this mount for a few months not, but due to varies reasons only used it less than a handful of times.... I noticed a chirping/resonance sound coming from the mount when slewing to targets and homing at high speed I heard it from new but thought it was just the way it was, however - since seeing other peoples videos I've not hear others do this so now wondering of something if wrong with the mount or something needs adjusting. It does it on both RA and DEC, it is correctly balanced and axis move smooth and easy when clutched disengaged. Please can someone have a look at the attached and let me know what your thoughts are? Cheers Rob 20200921_110959.mp4
  16. I'd forgotten how little they hold... I remember having to store my course work on those for college. Before that in my even younger days I remember playing computer games that came o these: https://www.computerhope.com/jargon/num/525inch.htm Before that even I remember bek g sat in front of my Commodore 64 waiting 45 mins for a game to load in a trans watching the flashing screen praying that the TAPE wouldn't stop 3/4 through loading!!!
  17. Nice little capture while waiting for the sun to go down...
  18. Not sure if this has been shared before, but a nice little video using data captured by Rosetta. Apologies if already shared.
  19. J also build scale models, so these were inevitable 😁 I also got a solar system T-Shirt and a couple of astro related books.
  20. Re: Photoshop. Could it be that the three you ate seeing is for individual RGB levels, and the ones you have been watching is for either overall brightness or mono? Just a thought....
  21. I have and use the WO GT71 with 0.8 reducer, I Have no complaints from build quality or optical quality, also used it for a time on the HEQ5
  22. Just an update to this, I DID do the firmware update for my motors and they certainly sound different, not had opportunity yet to try it out, but as the noise goes......it sounds promising.
  23. I'm using an Altair Astro Hypercam 183m Pro Tec (Cooled)
  24. Just wanted to share.... This is SOME of my luminen M31, had a bit of a challenging night with this, what with the seeing, LP and high level cloud. This is just 2hrs of luminence taken at 400 gain at 240 seconds each sub. Still want to get more L before adding RGB and Ha to the data, was taken in my Bortle 8 back garden. Feedback and guidance always welcomed, I know I have a bit of a gradient but I think that is down to my flats and processing.
