  1. Thanks Neil. I feel I'm starting to get somewhere. Looking forward to the planets getting higher up in the future but its good to know you can still image with them so low.
  2. Lovely smooth images. Lots of detail. You can certainly see the differences around the GRS in a month
  3. Thanks Angie. The video files didn’t look that good so I was pleased with what came out after processing
  4. These were taken on the 22nd through a MAK 180 with ASI 120 colour and mono cameras. I have been struggling for years to get what I would class as a clean image but thanks to advice and comment particularly from Neil and some others on this forum I finally think I'm getting somewhere. You never stop learning which is great !
  5. Thanks Neil. Appreciate your comments and advice. I think I had a tendency to over sharpen in the past. Trevor
  6. Thanks Chris. I’m not sure yet either. It’s all a bit new to me. The filter does seem to steady things down quite a bit. I’ve not processed them yet but I think I have some decent mono pictures of Saturn taken the same night. I guess it’s a balance of reducing the exposure rate compared with gains in better seeing. Trevor
  7. Still working on processing but certainly better seeing that previous attempts. The mono shot was taken using a 685 filter which helped. lots of images to process yet and maybe enough for an animation. That will keep me amused !
  8. Don't usually bother when the moon is so near full but following an attempt at Jupiter and Saturn on the 22nd I thought I'd have a try. These images of Mare Smythii and crater Neper are a first for me anyway. Taken with a 180 Mak
  9. Looks like that achro is proving itself. Interesting comments about the ADC. Never used one but they seem to get a good press generally on this forum. Yet something else to spend money on !!!!
  10. That’s very good Neil. Like that a lot. Plenty of fine detail. I’ve tried with an achro but never got that sort of colour balance 👍
  11. Thanks Chris. I think you may well be right . The next forecast chance here is five days away . Fingers crossed.
  12. Thanks Craig. It’s certainly a challenge this year but keeps me amused. Better next year ! Trevor
  13. Here's a couple more which I believe show a bit more detail autostitch.exe
  14. Thanks Simon. The forecast here is wall to wall cloud for the next few days as well☹️☹️
  15. Thanks Neil. Certainly a challenge this year from the UK. Fingers crossed for some better seeing. We have a while yet before the two giants disappear into the evening sunlight. Just need to move this cloud !!
  16. That's a cracker Neil. Brilliant. Anyone would be pleased with that !
  17. A couple of shots through a Skymax 180 last night. The mono had the addition of a 685 filter. Seeing was bad but considering the altitude I could be waiting a long time for good conditions. They won't win any awards but its something for me to better next time. All good fun !
  18. Plenty of detail there as usual Neil. I agree, its amazing what a smaller scope can do which must be encouraging to the vast majority of amateurs. I think we all agree this game is very much a law of diminishing returns. You don't necessarily need a huge scope to get some really good images these days. You can spend a fortune in upgrades and not really achieve much more. I was out as well last night but not processed anything as yet. Seeing was all over the place at times but we will see if I can gain anything from the good bits !! It always takes me far longer to process than to take images. It must be age !!!
  19. A score of one each then John !! We can have another match next year ! Nice shot. Trevor

    M31

Nice shot. Those ED72 scopes are ideal for this target
  21. Dodging clouds last night and very few meteors to be seen. One very bright one but way out of camera view ☹️. This was it from one 30 second exposure using a Canon 760D. Noisy but pushed hard to see the trail. My one and only Meteor is running bottom left of the Milky Way if you cant see it !
