  1. Yes indeed.a bit of other green and black. 😁
  2. Those thin straps are rubbish. You want a wide strap. I use one of these which has little pockets on it.. Called a camera strap but great for bins as well although a bit longer than many binocular straps. https://www.amazon.co.uk/TrueSHOT-Tropical-Accessory-USA-Gear/dp/B075252Y9Y/ref=sr_1_12?keywords=padded%2Bbinocular%2Bstrap&qid=1582291188&s=photo&sr=1-12&th=1
  3. Good old dependable WO diagonal. 👍🏻 Works as well as any mirror diagonal I’ve found.
  4. Yes it’s a good idea to do some research before buying. So many choices out there to confuse you. 😁 I have owned a C8 but now have a TS 8”:Classical Cassegrain which I find better on planets and as it dosen’t have a corrector plate doesn’t suffer from dew and cools down a lot faster. Big advantage also is it uses a refractor type focuser on the back with a fixed primary mirror. Paired with a wide field refractor makes a great combination. 😊 https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p10753_TS-Optics-8--f-12-Cassegrain-Teleskop-203-2436-mm-OTA.html
  5. One thing experience in this hobby will teach you is that no one telescope will do it all. There are scopes that are planetary specialists such as Maks or long focal lenth refractors and wide field scopes that are better at DSOs. The C8 is a very good scope and a good starting point in a scope collection and a good all rounder but being an all rounder not as good as more specialist scopes are at their specialties. You will get lots of recomendations for an 8 inch dobsonian telescope which is a great starting point for a beginner as they are simple to use and will show you more for the money than any other type.
  6. Both scopes have only been for sale for about two weeks so a bit soon for any reports yet although The IKI observatory is getting one of the 104s ready to test. Should be better than the Skywatchers.
  7. I once made an adapter to fit an EQ5 tripod.
  8. CN has a lot of very good knowledgeable peple on it but unfortunately they also have plenty of obnoxious opinionated rather unpleasant trolls that sometimes gang up on a poster if they don’t agree.
  9. Cosmos - Possible Worlds A 13 part series coming on the National Geographic channel on the 29th March. A tough act to follow the original. Will it be any good though? 🤔 https://www.indiewire.com/2019/11/cosmos-possible-worlds-release-date-synopsis-cast-1202188001/ Quote: ”The new 13-episode edition of “Cosmos” is part of the revival of astronomer Carl Sagan’s beloved 1980 show “Cosmos: A Personal Voyage,” which covered all manner of scientific subjects. A second season, “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey,” introduced the series to a new generation in 2014 and brought astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson on board to host”
  10. Now recieved the missing notifications from yesterday in one go this morning. Seems back to normal now.
  11. Finally received a notification. The first one in hours. Hopefully back to normal again. 🙏🏼
  12. Just wondering if anyone elso is not receiveing any notifications this evening. Temp problem hopefully.
  13. Yes the springs don’t look up to the job.
  14. The springs on mine are 10mm high by 10mm dia.
  15. The springs look quite long on the Ender. On mine the springs are fairly short and have locknuts.
  16. OTA without finder or diagonal weighs 4.6kg (10.14lbs) and is 800mm (31.5”) long with the dewshield extended and 670mm (27.5”) with it retracted. That’s without diagonal fitted. It’s not the lightest but feels so solidly built. One thing I can say about this scope is that it’s always a pleasure to use. Never feels like it’s “only” 80mm if that makes sense.👍🏻
  17. I think it may simply come down to the quality of the relevant parts suppied with your brand of printer. 🤔
  18. A Tesla boycot perhaps? Smart in some ways and a total idiot in others. What is needed are garbage clearing satelites to sweep them all away. along with all the other junk. 🤔
  19. I adjusted the bed a couple of years ago when I got my printer and haven’t had to adjust it since. And it has been moved a few times.
  20. It’s only been available for about two weeks so it could take a little while before anyone has had the chance to try imaging with one. You migjt try asking FLO if any have been sold yet.
  21. I’m reminded of the sayimg don’t try this at home. Obviously he knows what he is doing though.. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  23. Now this is what I call a 3D printer. Ideal for printing out an obs. 🤔 https://www.3dnatives.com/en/3d-printed-boat-university-of-maine-161020195/
  24. Yes very sad news indeed. https://home.bt.com/news/science-news/charismatic-tv-astronomer-heather-couper-dies-after-short-illness-11364432534585
