  1. Nope. Just don’t think much of their “review”.
  2. Well a couple of iself important diots who just don’t get the new series. 🙄 Some seem offended that it isn’t the same old thing but the vast majority love it as I do. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 This descibes tha makers of that review pretty well. 😁
  3. Voyager was my favourite series. 👍🏻 Tried watching the original Star Trek recently but didn’t like it. Just so dated. Loved it when it first came out though.
  4. At least we will have a proper answer to the tube weight question. If it weighs much less than 4.5kg I will be surprised.
  5. One of these perhaps? 🙂 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LARGE-POND-FOOT-BRIDGE-GARDEN-STREAM-OR-ORNAMENTAL-FEATURE-Site-Visit-Only/263564604786?hash=item3d5dacb572:g:fJMAAOSwLNVas9~X
  6. Is this the earth or maybe it’s the Borg homeworld? 🤔
  7. The LifeP04 batteries are the ones to go for. Nott just better suited to powering a mount due to their discharge characteristics but much safer. https://www.tracerpower.com/tracer-lifepo4-battery-packs-high-output-current.html
  8. Just checked the UK importers website and it gives the Astro Fi tube weight as 4.5kg. Perhaps ask your supplier to confirm the weight. https://www.dhinds.co.uk/products/celestron-astro-fi-6-schmidt-cassegrain?_pos=4&_sid=5b7b97fdd&_ss=r#specifications
  9. Think the OTAs are the same. The Astro Fi is the scope with the cheaper mount. the Nexstar C6 is more expensive because of the mount.
  10. A 5x barlow will be a waste of time. You can only increase magnification so far before everything is just a fuzzy blur. A 2x barlow will be a lot more use. Have a read of this thread.
  11. It’s very stable which you would expect of a stand dsigned for the purpose. LED TVs are quite light and this TV weighs less than 10kg and the stand is rated to hold a 50kg TV..
  12. A roll about TV trolley stand. 🙂 Had a 40” Panasonic 4K TV sitting unused in the closet so decided to get a stand with a tray suitable for a laptop. Will actually be able to read the text on Firecapture for a change. 😁
  13. Dobs are as mentioned above simply the best buy as you get the most scope for the money. If you want an Alt Az mounted scope you will have to pay more for something decent and usable. . https://www.firstlightoptics.com/sky-watcher-az5-deluxe/sky-watcher-explorer-130ps-az5-deluxe.html
  14. Might be worth checking RVOs second hand section. https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/rvo-second-hand-items.html
  15. Does sound like an honest mistake. If he’d never seen a 290 before he wouldn’t know that it had been fiddled with. Did you check with RVO to see if it was in stock? It was in stock on Tuesday.
  16. Glad you got it sorted. Found when I had my Skytee those grub screws rounded out so easily. Made from very soft metal. Will have to get an extractor set myself one day. 🤔
  17. Just ignore the speck of dust. It won’t affect performance at all.
  18. It’s a spacer ring used when fitting an eyepiece to the scope instead of a camera. Part way through this vid shows it being used.
  19. One of these sets will do the job or if you can find a left hand drill bit should be cheaper. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Laser-Tools-6844-Damaged-Extractor/dp/B071LGWQ8Z Edot: Was just gping to mention using a torx bit but someone beat me too it. 🙂
  20. Rother Valley Optics has the 290m mini in stock. Just contact them and check before ordering.
  21. You can download the ZWO image capture software or Firecapture and try it out in the daytime. I tested my 290 looking at an alarm box on a house a distance away..BTW you may see just a black or white screen at first until you adjust the exposure and gain settings.
  22. Yes the glass is glued into the underside of the black ring. Seems a strange mod to make. 🤔
