Nice white light images Stu. DSLR full disks look great!

Did well Dave given the conditions.

Quick grab in between the wind / rain / hail / dodgy seeing! After a heavy rain / hail shower the wind seems to have dropped now so I might have another go with the Evostar in a minute

5.6.20 Wind, cloud, awful seeing.. anything else?
David Smith replied to Rusted's topic in Imaging - Solar
Worth it to catch a nice AR though. Well done. -
I'm considering adding an autofocuser to my Evostar 120. The scope has the upgraded dual speed focuser attached, like this one:- https://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-focusers/dual-speed-2-crayford-focuser-for-sky-watcher-refractors.html Not sure the Skywatcher autofocuser will fit. Has anyone managed to do this or know of another autofocuser that will fit? Appreciate your time Dave

Indeed, both daughters got laid off within days of lockdown coming into force and both brothers are currently furloughed until August.

EQM35 power supply
David Smith replied to Felipe's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
The amp rating on the power supply is usually the maximum it can deliver at any time, so having a higher value than you require is not a problem. Having a lower value though is a problem and will not work. -
Yeah, rained all day here yesterday and the forecast for the next few days looks poor. I knew as soon as I finished my job and had some time the weather would break Mind you ordering the Quark probably didn't help much either
-
Thanks Pete. Fingers crossed I might have something coming up. Hope to hear back soon.

I used a QHY5-II mono for imaging before I got the ZWO. Should do a fine job for you Charl, although your frame rates might be a bit disappointing, max 30fpd @ full res if I remember correct. Still have mine tucked away in a cupboard just in case.
-
Nice. I've a Quark on order, if I can get to the point where I can capture images like these I will be happy.
-
Nice, love the prom images.

Awesome set Martin

Horror of horrors, woke up to clouds this morning Fortunately it was that thin cirrus that, although persistent I could still work around / through. Still lots to see although the spots / pores in the active region seem to have gone now. Lots of proms kicking off again though in Ca-K. Plenty of prominence activity Some nice granulation in white light And finally the AR in WL and Ca-K

Nooooo!
-
Nice, what happened to your camera Charl? Or is that a sore subject.
-
No Ca-K yesterday? Nice set of H alpha.
-
Good disk Chris. Good to see you back in the solar game again.
-
Looking more like it.

Thanks Stu

Another clear start to the day so had to get out and see what was going on. Still lots of activity both in white light and Ca-K. Seeing generally not as good today as yesterday but still passable at times. Ca-K FD's Nice little plage area @2500mm focal length Proms @1000mm focal length, shot binned 2x2 Managed to catch some nice granulation in white light. Worth clicking these for the full size image. And finally the active region @2500mm focal length in both white light and Ca-K
