  11. Hi and a very warm welcome to the Lounge The Tal motor drive is commonly known as a clock drive and has previously mentioned runs at sidereal time only. Manually point at your chosen object and switch on the drive, it will keep your object in the centre of your scope ONLY if you have aligned your mount correctly. Steve

  13. There are quiet a few Robert Brown MY projects I am interested in. Just love Robert Browns projects, Graham. So far I have built three autofocus units & the MySQM project. Steve
  14. Hi Anne, That's not a guide scope it's a 135mm lens. I use an OAG connected to the second mounted scope and as I have adjusted the mount pivot point value, this all but eliminates any shutter issues. Steve
  15. Hi Anne, Yes I spent time shimming both scopes and now have them aligned. Regarding the upper scope and alignment, I presume you mean it's position relative to the shutter. I altered the "Mount pivot point to the optical centre" dimension to incorporate both scopes, ie half the measurement from the bottom scope tube to the top of the upper scope tube. This then places both scopes central to the dome slit. Hth Steve

  17. Yes I had the same response. I spent a very long time looking for a matched FR for the 80 triplet. Btw here's my dual scope rig:- Steve
  18. Hi Dave, great to see a Tal being refurbished and you are doing an exceptionally fine job on the old gal Steve
  19. I have the same scope & purchased this Reducer and works well, although it is micro sensitive regards spacing to obtain a flat field. Steve
  20. Unfortunately, I don't think the Altair Wave 80 has a reducer as I would have got it anyway for wider fov imaging. Unless other reducers work with it? Altair suggest otherwise from their support chat. Is your Wave 80 the triplet scope? Steve

  22. I've also kept my old data on the premise that a fabulous image processing software will turn up and process my images to a level that rivals the Masters Steve

  24. Hi Steve, I use my SPC900NC as "my eyes" in the obsy. I fitted an old wide angle camcorder lens onto it and I now have a great view of what's going on. There is a recent post on updated drivers for this camera so you can update to win10. Steve
  25. Unfortunately hubs & active cables are renowned for causing issues with regards to astrophotography. The usb isn't as robust a connection as we would like it to be, particularly with the increased download data we are experiencing with the latest cmos cameras. If I were you I would look for a backup, high quality, usb repeater / active cable and you should be using a 12v powered usb3 hub from the likes of Startech. Then if you have issues in the future you have a replacement handy. Steve
