  1. I'm looking to mount a pegasus power advance onto my Esprit as part of tidying up the cable situation on my setup, I'm also wondering if there is a solution ready available for ZWO cameras for routing power and USB cables in order to reduce strain on the ports and assist with routing cables? I've seen a few videos where owners have what look look like 3d printed solutions. I'm unable to find anyone selling such an item, seems like an ideal way of reducing future issues with loose ports etc. Mark
  2. I believe Luke Newbould on here is using ASI with is EQ8, check out his YouTube channel also. Very good.
  3. It's very erratic, oddly shaped and I suspec a reflection from Alnitak. How does it look when the images are stacked?
  4. Lovely HH, super smooth data, picked up the star on the nags nose to. Mark
  5. So many well known U-tubers chucking out help guides for beginners full of hyperlinks to astronomy dealers. Best mount, best scope , best eyepieces etc etc the list goes on and on, just lining their own pockets under the false pretence they are helping when they are causing confusion and disappointment. As long as they get their kick back from the suppliers all is good 😉
  6. Continue to enjoy imaging with the OSC camera when weather allows, change over to the Newtonian for galaxy season, improve my process skills and learn how to use APP and Pixinsight, re-skin the observatory in the summer. Thats all.. Mark
  7. Rodd, don't take the lack of comments too personal, you post a lot of excellent images. Im not comfortable being critical of someone's images as what I like someone else may see room for improvement .
  8. Hello David, thanks for checking your settings, I think may have used the settings you mentioned on an earlier post, strange why they don't seen to work on my set up?. I wonder if extending the meridian overlap will help
  9. I recently moved over to using NINA and have enjoyed plate solving and all the other good options it offers. Ive been working my way up to meridian flips and had a look back on a couple of threads where other members were initially having issues . I found a discussion on SGL and amended the values in Sitech and NINA to match and attempted a MF the other night, I watched the countdown to the MF and saw the mount do its thing and continue with the process of centre target and find a new guide star..then for some reason the mount flipped the scope back to the original side of the pier, find and centred target and started the sequence again? Ive attached the settings im using, I suspect there are 2 instructions being sent to move the mount around the MF? Is it possible the option use telescope side of pier should be switched off? And could one of the instructions to MF be the GEM auto flip track in Sitech Appreciate any ideas as to whats happening an d how to resolve, really enjoying using NINA and this is the only issue ive experienced. Thanks Mark.
  10. At home waiting on my mount about to do a meridian flip the aurora alerts were flooding in, jumped the the car to a local spot and got a quick shot before a frantic drive home in time to watch a failed meridian flip🤨
  11. Thank you all for your suggestions, when I started in astronomy many may years ago I only used binoculars and would have them mounted on a smallish tripod which allowed for steady views, I enjoyed viewing this way, The monopod option looks the simplest to use however I really want hands off the binoculars. Ive found this option while searching, seems solid enough for the small binos I will be using, anyone got any reviews on this mount? https://uk.telescope.com/Telescopes/Orion-Paragon-Plus-Binocular-Mount-and-Tripod/rc/1306/p/109828.uts Mark
  12. I'm looking for a decent height tripod with trigger grip for comfortable viewing up to the zenith. The binos for use will be light weight 8x42 but I still enjoy stead views. Any suggestions? Mark
  13. Stumbled across this today, interesting
  14. I used 35mm film for a while, think it was with an Olympus OM2N camera which was excellent as were the lenses, I upgraded to a Mamiya 6 x 4.5 and got some decent results considering I would only image around a new moon and take my kit to darker skies, using film from home was pointless. Ive attached an example , only one I can find at hand, This was approx 25 mins manually guided by eye, yes the ol peepers. Telescope was a Vixen 108 DED. Mark
  15. That's a wonderful M31 and I would be pleased with it. Similar story to mine and others on the forum who have moved from mono to OSC. I think with the UK weather and weeks between imaging, OSC helps with motivation knowing you have something even with a short imaging time. I was out for a few hours during the week on M31 with the 2600MC, not processed yet but looks promising. Mark
  16. There are a number of variable stars in M27, could be one of them?
  17. I should have a QHY polemaster this week as I want to refine the polar alignment on my main mount. I also have the Skyguider Pro and I'm unable to locate any adapter's to afix the polemaster to it, I know ioptron have the ipolar camera but that requires removal of the polar scope. Mark
  18. Thank you. Yes really excited for the next clear night.. look forward to seeing your images, clear skies.. Mark
