  1. Sad to hear this news.
  2. Im wondering what Space X are thinking now for IFT5? Starship looked to be missing a fair chunk from the right flap on splashdown, the other flaps no doubt were in a similar state. A rethink of the flap design possibly, less angular?
  3. Aurora on the night of the 10/11th May. Canon 6d, 24mm lens F2, Iso 400. 2 second exp.
  4. Copernicus crater. Taken 17th May, 10" newtonian, ZWO 178mm camera , 650 IR filter, 5 x powermate.
  5. Crater Bousingault, taken on 15th May, 10" Newtonian , ZWO 178mm camera IR650 filter.
  6. Mosaic around Clavius taken on April 17 and same area May 17, 10" Newtonian ZWO 178mm camera, IR 650 filter, 5x powermate.
  7. I really enjoy viewing and imaging this part of the Moon , Youve captured it well Kostas. Was out last night also trying some closeups but the seeing was poor, tonight is my last chance to image the moon before it gets too low to image at a decent phase, swapping the newt out for the refractor this weekend for some solar imaging. Mark
  8. I took these images around the last decent clear skies 15th & 17th April, seeing was awful but what can you do with a strong jet-stream over you. Ive only looked at the images today and these were the best of the bunch. All taken through Orion CT10 newtonian, TV 5x powermate, ZWO 178mm camera, IR650 filter. 1. Lagrenus under full illumination. 2. 4 Pane Mosaic clavius to Morteus. 3. Copennicus emerging into sunrise and ghost crater Stadius. Mark.
  9. Very nice Kon, I've just come back in doors after a disappointing session, windows 11 decided to update and configure plus I was unable able to get good image runs without continual buffering.. Maurolycus gives me a smile under this illumination, such a happy looking crater 🙂.. your seeing looks to have been better than mine. Mark.
  10. Beautiful image. Love the crater chain.
  11. So sad to read this. Loved his enthusiasm for imaging the sky. One of a kind. RIP Alyn.
  12. Give me a second would you! You managed to moan within seconds of me posting and trying to attach the correct files😆
  13. A rare clear sky on Friday, attempted another mosaic with the 10 inch, lots of issues capturing the 19 frames, also took a few quick close ups but the seeing had gone down hill from earlier. 10" Newtonian, 3X TV barlow, ASI 174mm IR pass 650 filter. Close ups 5x TV powermate.
  14. Desperate to see the sky took a few fres around the South Pole of the moon last night Seeing was very por but just happy getting out as its been over 1 month since I saw the sky.
  15. I found this so looks to be a known object.
  16. Wonder if anyone can help assist Identify the small fuzzy blob near 16 monoceros in this image. Should also mention this is quite a deep image of around 14 hrs, quick rough process. Thanks
  17. Very sad news, such a talented telescope maker. A great loss to the astronomy community. My condolences to his family at this time. Mark
  18. It's a favourite read of mine, first time I read it I immediately went back to the start and read ir again, I've not felt like this with any other book. As a young astronomer I owned another of his books Guideposts to the stars, that book grew my curiosity in astronomy and 40 odd years later I still love looking up. Mark.
  19. After watching the latest video I wondered how short changed those who paid for Astrobiscuit and buddies felt at the end. Drinking in the hot tub is hardly astronomy, didn't understand the urgency to image same night as the larger telescope either? And why not test the scope before taking it abroad? All a bit fake.
  20. Thanks Kostas Let me have another try with the points you mention above. Mark
  21. Yes its a great place to visit, my 4th time there. This little hut used to be the local school house!
  22. Beautiful clear sky last Tuesday night in the highlands, was staying in Clashgour hut for a few nights and fired off a few frames, really cold night -10, but the skies were superb.
  23. During November I managed 10 nights imaging Jupiter, most of which Ive deleted as the seeing has been so poor, A few nights ago the seeing seemed better than usual and I captured a number of SER files for processing. As processed single files they are not that spectacular however I ve tried without any success combining and de-rotating the images in Winjupos. No mater what I do I get a smeared image, Ive watched many tutorials and unless im missing something really obvious I cant get it to work. All the images are UT stamped, my lat and long are entered, hitting F11 does not always place the planet stencil over Jupiter correctly so I have manually adjusted this. Im selecting an image around the middle of the vids as a reference time. The image is not being de-rotated as far as I can see only stacked. Any thoughts? Mark
  24. Started this image back in Oct after the Kielder star party while staying in Hexham. Taken through the Spacecat 51 telescope, ZWO 2600mc pro, L-Ultimate filter sat on SW adventurer GTI mount. 62 x 10mins Mark
