Finally: My first DSO!

After a couple of months of problems, including bad polar alignment and cloudy skies, I have finally managed to take my first DSO. It was a little tricky; I'm imaging on wooden decking at the moment.

I'm using an unguided setup: Skywatcher Startravel 150mm, on a H-EQ5 and an unmodded 1000D for capture. I'm excited, as I've ordered a Baader Semi Apo filter, which should hopefully fix my obvious fringe problem!

Thats coming along nicely, you caught the trapezium detail well you just need longer subs for the outer parts.

As said lovely start with small subs for the core. Be abit of a challenge for longer subs, but you will work it out with good alignment.

Well done. My first attempt became a non starter. I was to busy looking at it through the eyepiece and it dissapeared behind a tree

I hope you don't mind, but I borrowed Janis' image and tried to remove the purple fringing and a bit more of the vignetting. Some stars look a bit peculiar now but hey-ho!
