Last december, my friend Fred borrow me his refractor the Tal 100R for me to test. He knows I love to test telescopes on the moon, so on last december, I took this shoot.

Its a single photo jpeg unstacked, taken with DSLR sony A350 in prime focus on the 1.25" focuser Tal 100R on a EQ5 without motor.

This telescope is a planet killer !!!

You prefer the normal with CA , or the B/W without CA?

In B/W to kill the CA:

Very, very nice sharp pics.

Nothing quite as lovely as pointing the scope at the moons terminator and wandering upand down it. Quite magical, seeing bits of peaks and crator walls lit and the shadows thrown, just wisks me away to imaginationland.

:-)

Andy.

Superb! The focus is stunning - you must have had a really clear night.

A couple of questions:

Did you achieve the fine degree of focus looking thru the camera view finder?

What altitude were you at?

On the CA image, the blue appears shifted to the right on my monitor, is that likely to cause a problem on fainter objects or objects that are not mostly gray?

"Русские умеют как сделать хорошее стекло"

Well the CoC doesn't usually allow languages other than English on the forum, but as this means:

"Russians do make good glass" I'm turning a blind eye lol :D
