Helio from starry wales

Just a quick message as I've just joined the site. I got back into astronomy again after a long while. I spent many teenage years in the back garden with a 6" newtonian reflector, now sadly rusted up in the shed! Recently bought a used etx90 to test the waters again - all this goto stuff is new to me but it works well, the quality of the optics are superb. For a small aperture the view of jupiter is tack sharp, and DSO although just a smudge show up well. M27 and M57 look close to those from memory with the bigger telescope - even though i have no tripod the scope is rested on a garden table!! I will consider at a later time to possibly get something like a celestron 5se although i will be lucky to find one with optics this good.

Good wishes to all, andrew
