Hello to all on this great forum.

I am a novice star gazer. I have just moved up, from the back-yard/front-porch astronomy of staring upwards to cheap 10x50 binoculars (which I think are great) and a borrowed toyshop 60mm refractor (a friend's son lost interest). I can see some bright stars in the big town orange glow but binoculars show more. When the bug bites a little deeper I will splash out on a real telescope.

I have already picked up lots of sage advice by perusing previous posts to newbies like me so a BIG thankyou to all you SGL posters sharing your enthusiasm and know-how.

Welcome to the forum Umberto. Don't forget to use the search box at the top of the page for past questions and answers, there's a lot of information there.

Clear skies and keep looking up!

James
