Hello im Jon and I have been secretly using this forum for a few months, not really having much to input.......untill now! Today my 130p arrived so now I feel that i have something to say :D. The scope and mount seem excellent and I really cant wait to use it. The forecast yesterday for the area that I live in was clear skies for this evening, my scope arrived and now it is cloud :< typical. I have been observing the sky for around 6 months now just with my eyes and some binoculars and finally decided to take the step and purchase a scope :). For the few months that I have observed this forum I have learnt so much from what so many people have had to say, this place really is an excellent place for those who want to learn so thank you all for the help that is constantly available, its fantastic, and to all who live near me, sorry that i have cursed the sky and brought the cloud :D

thanks all for the warm welcome, I managed to get out and have a look around, saw some great stuff, I wont forget my first proper stargaze :D (my fingers hurt though from using the mount for 5 hours straight)

Hi John and welcome

You are going about it the right way, learning the sky and taking time before buying a scope, the more you understand the sky the better. Patience is a virtue in this game!
