Well, I've been doing this for a year and a half now and have had some ok but never really satisfying results.

I spent the summer building my obs, upgrading my mount, moving from DSLR to CCD, imported motorised moonlite focusers and spent night after night learning loads of new software and processing tools

...last night it finally all came together. I've started the Ha side of some pics I want to get finished in time for xmas, here they are.

To say I'm chuffed would be an understatement :icon_eek:

Camera: QYH8 with Astronomik 6nm Ha Filter

Scope: Skywatcher Equinox 80 with Televue TRF-2008

Mount: EQ6 with EQMOD

Guiding: Orion ST80 with QHY5

Capture Software: CCD Commander, The Sky, Maxim DL

Processing Software: DSS, Photoshop

Exposures (IC1805): 6 x 600 secs (1 hour)

Exposures (NGC7000 / IC5070): 14 x 600 secs (2 hours 20 mins)

Exposures (B33): 12 x 900 secs (3 hours)

Calibration: 100 x Bias, 50 x Flats

Thanks for the great comments, it's such a relief to finally be able to get decent results!!

I just need the cloud to dispense and the moon to move along so I can get the colour data

I'm really not a fan of B&W images, normally do absolutely nothing for me...........but those are seriously good!!!! Awesome work, you have right to be pleased.

I'm sure one of those, if not all three, are contender for POW!

Here is the CCD inspector result for the ED80 / EQ80 and TRF-2008 combo across the QHY8. This is with the Moonlite focuser upgrade though, I suspect there will be more sagging with the stock focuser. My one lost collimation so I had to replace it anyway
