I know the guys who built and own this ,amongst other scopes, and do not think that it is the same one although it looks similar.

I am very suspicious when I see a bargain on e-bay that is going 'cheap' and the seller has not taken the time to set out the wording of the advert correctly.

Despite this he has a strong positive feedback. So I will apologise if it turns out that the seller is a member of SGL and that the advert is genuine.;)

I'd also want a lot more information on the condition and provenance of the mirror set and to see it and ideally star test it in person. That's a lot of money to pay for a home built truss and base assembly if the mirror proves poor ......

A new set of optics (standard grade) is currently listed at a little over £1,400 from Orion Optics ;)

The conditions under which the other mirror was being made looked pretty grim.;). I would be surprised if there were no scratches on it.

I would need a test report before buying that scope. Or at least a chance to test the mirror.
